The leader of a Chinese terrorist group who serves on al Qaeda's top council may have been killed in an airstrike in Pakistan's Taliban-controlled tribal agency of North Waziristan. The report is not confirmed.
Abdul Haq al Turkistani, the leader of the Eastern Turkistan Islamic Party, is reported to have been killed by the US in the Feb. 15 airstrike. The US strike targeted a vehicle and a safe house operated by Taliban leader Hafiz Gul Baradar in the town of Tabi Ghundi Kala; four terrorists were reported killed in the attack.
Pakistani intelligence officials and Taliban sources claimed that Haq was killed in the strike, according to a report in Geo News. US intelligence officials contacted by The Long War Journal could not confirm Haq's death but are investigating the reports.
"He's certainly a dangerous terrorist leader, one we'd like to check off our list," an intelligence official told The Long War Journal. "He's on al Qaeda's top shura [council] and he is seeking to carry out attacks across the globe."

Q: How would you like your Chinese-terrorist leader?
A: Smoked.
Maybe China will write down a few billion of USA’s debt?
Seems only fair....
Uighur jihadis?
It would be fascinating to see if we could snag an alliance with China and they could help out in Iraq and Afghanistan. They have a problem with the Uighers and it would be interesting to see how they would deal with the terrorists.
he should have surrendered and after a brief stay at Club Gitmo he likely would have been released in Bermuda
Wow. I think that is the most multicultural headline I've ever seen.
Thread bump.

Senior al Qaeda and Afghan Taliban leaders are reported to have met with Pakistani Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud to advise him to move his group’s operations into Afghanistan and halt attacks against the Pakistani state.
Several meetings were said to have been held last week after an 11-man delegation of al Qaeda and Taliban heavy hitters arrived in Waziristan to deliver a request from Mullah Omar, the Amir al Mumineen, or the leader of the faithful in Pakistan and Afghanistan, according to a report in The Nation.
The Taliban dispatched Sirajuddin Haqqani, the powerful military commander of the Haqqani Network, and Abdul Hakeem Sharaee and Mir Ahmad Jan Hashemi, two senior deputies of Mullah Abdullah Zakir, the Taliban’s senior-most military commander in southern Afghanistan who was released from Guantanamo Bay.
Al Qaeda sent Abu Yahya Al Libi, one of al Qaeda’s senior ideologues and a representative of the religious committee, and Abdul Haq Turkistani, the leader of the Eastern Turkistan Islamic Party, an al Qaeda-linked group that is made up of Uighurs who fight the Chinese government. Abdul Haq serves on al Qaeda’s Shura Majlis, or executive council.
The joint Taliban and al Qaeda delegation reportedly advised Baitullah to halt the Pakistani Taliban’s attacks against the military and government and to focus his energy in Afghanistan. The leaders believe Baitullah’s terror attacks against the Pakistani state are putting undue pressure on the Taliban in both Pakistan and Afghanistan and threaten to damage the overall Taliban movement.

We’ve been wondering how these ‘poor’ Chinese illegal aliens get the money to pay Mexican Coyotes to bring them over the border....this may be an answer.
Another story today on this from NAFBPO. This time it’s Mexico’s immigration people getting them in.
Trafficking probe nets 10 Mexican migration agents
Associated Press 2010-03-03
Mexicos interior department says prosecutors have detained 10 Mexican immigration agents and three airline workers at Cancuns international airport on suspicion of trafficking Chinese migrants.
The department says in a statement that the agents, along with the two Mexicana Airlines employees and a worker of Livingston Air, allegedly allowed Chinese citizens into the country with false passports.
A statement issued Tuesday by the department says the arrests are part of an investigation that resulted in the detention of 26 immigration agents at Cancuns airport in January.
