Search spreads for Calif. teen; sex offender held

SAN DIEGO - Authorities and volunteers are widening a search for a 17-year-old missing in San Diego County after a registered sex offender was arrested in connection with her disappearance.

Some 1,400 volunteer searchers and more than 100 law enforcement officers failed to find Chelsea King on Sunday, but evidence was found that led to the arrest of 30-year-old John Albert Gardner of Lake Elsinore, Calif. some 75 miles to the north, San Diego County Sheriff William Gore told the Associated Press in an interview.

Elsinore. Haven’t been to Elsinore since 1968, and it’s only eight miles from the ranch.

It’s a place without reason to go to unless one lives there I s’pose.

I've camped at the park at Lake Elsinore in 1978. My wife and I did some fishing and enjoyed some of the plums growing in the park. A year later, we tried to repeat the visit. It didn't end well. Ants everywhere. We were ready to set up our cook stove, then discovered it was still at home. We just went home. The afternoon and entrance fee was a total loss.

Unless there’s been a heck of an earthquake, there’s NO WAY that Elsinore is 75 miles north of Poway. Reason #475,295,308 that MSNBC needs a fact checker.
