(CNN) -- The widow of an Internal Revenue Service employee killed when a disgruntled taxpayer flew his plane into a seven-story building in Austin, Texas, last week is suing the pilot's wife, according to court documents.
Valerie Hunter, the wife of Vernon Hunter, is accusing Sheryl Stack, wife of Andrew Joseph "Joe" Stack III, of negligence, alleging she she knew or should have known that her husband was a threat to others and, thus, could have prevented the attack, according to the lawsuit filed Monday in Travis County District Court.

"That is a lie made so by the lawyers determining themselves to be advocates not of the law but of clients, no matter who or what the clients may be" Well, the fact of the matter is that we do have an adversarial legal system. Yes, attorney's must be advocates for their client, but they can't break the law in furtherance of that advocacy. They (we) are advocates, but also officers of the court. Most attorneys have no problem meeting both obligations, although occasionally some do. Those usually - in time - end up disbarred, or behind bars themselves.

Consider it an expansion of gov oversight.
When was the last time a honest individual could defend himself in public?
NO NEW LAWS!

Stacks widow is a victim, but her daughter was also an a$$hole calling her thieving, twisted father a hero in the face of the other widows bereavement. Perhaps his dumb a$$ of a daughter will keep her yap shut so her mother doesnt have to deal with more bull from the aftermath of her husbands actions. Wow...we do still live in America where we have freedom of speech. Even if YOU don't like what is said.
The bottom line on this story is heartache for all associated.
One asshat messed up a bunch of lives.
Lawyers are salt in the wound at this point

No, I read it and you still are reaching.
So I assume you would agree that the abortion doctor's, George Tiller, family should be able to sue his murderer's family?

Stacks widow is a victim, but her daughter was also an a$$hole calling her thieving, twisted father a hero in the face of the other widows bereavement. Not Stack's widow's daughter. Stack's daughter from a previous marriage.

I’m filing a lawsuit against everyone on this thread for not warning me about the inane, trivial, ridiculous, self-serving, ignorant, obnoxious, untruthful, narrow-minded, biased, inflammatory, superficial, hyperbole-filled posts which have been made. Anyone who calls Stack OR Hunter a hero will also be targeted. Both widows will also be subpoeaned (sp?) to testify for stirring this mess up. Hunter for allowing her husband to be in his office at the wrong time and Stack for not shooting her husband before he left to go to the airport.

Oh, Puh-leeze. Obviously, the guy was a nutcase and committed a horrible wrong, but how can you blame his widow? This is what comes of people rejecting God. They frantically cast about in blame, and ignore their own sin.

At this point it still seems like the widow is a victim, too.
If she sells her story why should she owe anything to anyone else?
What legal obligation does she have to provide compensation?
If the other family needs money, that is what life insurance is for and the deceased should have provided that. He is just as dead as if he’d had a heart attack the day prior.

Thank you. I am glad to hear that the victim’s wife is indeed a person of compassion. I don’t understand a legal system that requires a lawsuit to keep autopsy reports for an individual from being made public tho. Of course, we all know who writes the laws....

Haters. I expect better from FReepers, than to use the liberal tactic of accusing people they disagree with of hate.
