(CNN) -- The widow of an Internal Revenue Service employee killed when a disgruntled taxpayer flew his plane into a seven-story building in Austin, Texas, last week is suing the pilot's wife, according to court documents.
Valerie Hunter, the wife of Vernon Hunter, is accusing Sheryl Stack, wife of Andrew Joseph "Joe" Stack III, of negligence, alleging she she knew or should have known that her husband was a threat to others and, thus, could have prevented the attack, according to the lawsuit filed Monday in Travis County District Court.

The maniac also tried to kill his wife and child, setting the house on fire with them in it. For her to now be served with lawsuit papers is adding egregious insult to her injuries.
Thats your incorrect speculation.
Hasn’t Stack’s wife suffered too, Stack burned down the family’s house before going to the airport. The wife had left the home with her child a couple of days prior as he was acting up. He never told her of a plan to do a Kamikaze dive into a building.
Amazing, how our legal system works. Sue the pants off of everybody who isn't responsible.
It was a lone creepy guy and he is dead.
People who bring frivolous law suits do not deserve mercy.
It would certainly be justified to sue Stack's estate. But the wife? Nope.
In any case, if Stack's suicide note is accurate, there's not likely to be much in the way of assets.
Well, even conservatives here on FR who are lawyers are mostly scum, from the run-ins I have had with many in the past.
So I would just say that lawyers are scum and leave it at that.
I’m sorry, I don’t know what you are talking about. And I am a girl, not a fella.
I hope you and your bleeding heart comrades run tight ships at home because I wouldn’t want you to lose everything over something a family member done.
Pffft!!!!
You ignorance is showing. They weren't in the house. She went to a motel. I am not going to speculate that she knew he was going to burn the house down so that is why she 'checked out'.
Her daughter is not a young child, she is a married woman. Look it up.
Another poster made the statement.
So, you are not a lawyer nor in the legal "profession"?
Fair enough.
You're still wrong.
Have a good day, honey. I’m off to fly into a building....ridiculous!!!
Your ignorance of the law is showing.
Keep looking it the mirro there pal to see the sicko.
Forgive my literary license.
Anyone’s heart SHOULD bleed for the victim. Even if he worked for the IRS.
Of course it is a frivolous lawsuit which will eventually be dismissed but not before time and money are wasted. The lady didn’t wait too long before filing this ridiculous lawsuit
