(CNN) -- The widow of an Internal Revenue Service employee killed when a disgruntled taxpayer flew his plane into a seven-story building in Austin, Texas, last week is suing the pilot's wife, according to court documents.

Valerie Hunter, the wife of Vernon Hunter, is accusing Sheryl Stack, wife of Andrew Joseph "Joe" Stack III, of negligence, alleging she she knew or should have known that her husband was a threat to others and, thus, could have prevented the attack, according to the lawsuit filed Monday in Travis County District Court.

Blaming the wife? Yes, it’s frivolous.

What if the wife knew about it? After all, she knew something. She checked into a motel the night before. Besides, why should the pilot's wife possibly benefit financially from his suicide?

Then she should rightly give it up to the victim’s widow.

I agree.

The pilot’s widow was not the perpetrator.

If the wife actually knew he was going to do it and did nothing, I think that would probably be a criminal issue.

Where is your mercy in this tragedy?

On the side of the widow whose husband was murdered. Apparently yours is on the side of the widow of the murderer.

I understand the victim’s wife and family are distraught, but this seems quite a reach. How is she culpable unless she conspired with him to perform the action?

Is the wife of the man who killed the 5 Amish schoolgirls responsible for his actions? Should she have “known” what he was capable of and stopped him?

This sounds much more like a predator attorney preying on the family’s grief.

This guy’s wife and kid got nothing.

That makes his a selfish, murdering coward who left his family to deal with his misery and caused another family to suffer the loss of a loved one.

.

I imagine she did attempt a 180 after she said that

She will live with her original statement

I am sure the Clintoon’s were not too thrilled when they were caught by the IRS in the 1990s for evading federal income taxes way back decades before

I agree with you.

Only if the perpetrator’s wife stood to PROFIT should she give up the profits.

Most people here do not understand that.

Yes it is. You have to be a lawyer. Only a lawyer could believe otherwise.

How about both? The widow of the IRS employee will collect his life insurance; the widow of the pilot has nothing, and this Jersey Girl wants more from her? What a greedy bi..h!!

She doesn’t owe the widow or anyone else anything.
