The Gay Infiltration of the Conservative Movement
Accuracy in Media ^ | February 22, 2010 | Cliff Kincaid

Posted on 02/23/2010 6:18:36 AM PST by AIM Freeper

California Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) chairman Ryan Sorba generated a media controversy when he was shown at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) denouncing the organizers for inviting a homosexual Republican group, GOProud, into the event as an official sponsor. In "controversial" remarks, Sorba said homosexuality was unnatural and that he welcomed more debate and discussion about the subject from his political adversaries.

But what many people don't realize is that Sorba's "outburst" was provoked by a speaker who preceded him, Alexander McCobin of Students For Liberty (SFL). McCobin went out of his way to use valuable time from the podium to thank the American Conservative Union, the main CPAC organizer, for making the controversial decision to approve GOProud's participation.

David Keene, a lobbyist, is the chairman of the ACU and personally approved GOProud's involvement in CPAC.

Sorba told AIM, "I think CPAC went overboard this year. I don't think he [Keene] should be sitting at the top of CPAC." He noted that CPAC over the last several years has also allowed groups such as the ACLU to have exhibits at the event.

"What's next?," Sorba asked. "Are they going to have Republicans for Obamacare? Republicans for free abortions?"

Yes, we do by at least that much. The Catholic church is not the first church.

I have a friend who used to ask me when was I going to return to the Catholic Churh, which I was never a member of, so I explained to him the real history of the church.

Does your cousin think his actions are normal? Does he want to teach that his lifestyle is ok to children? Is he a homosexual first and conservative second? Does he like to get in peoples faces about who he is? If the answer is “yes” to any of these, he is part of the problem.

I’m not blind in my convictions, and I appreciate that we can have this civilized conversation. I understand the historical impact of the early Christian dogma, and I appreciate that others do as well.

“Homosexuals are not a problem....”

Until they band together to push for special rights based on what they f*ck.

It must suck to be so wrong. First off, I am not a Christian, d-bag, and your stupid stereotype that only Christians are against homosexuality is exactly why you and your homosexual buddies don’t understand who your dealing with. And I don’t know what kind of hysterical and paranoid mind you have, to say I threatened your life, but I demand an apology for the slanderous accusation that I did so.

“My children aren’t homosexual so I can’t really say for sure what I would do if they were”

Really? You honestly don’t know if you would love them the same as you do now? Wow! The fact that people like you would put your religion above your children is the problem I have with the Christian Religion.

My children are my flesh and blood. No matter what, I will always love them unconditionally, there’s no thinking about it. No religion could ever be placed above my children.

No to all. He’s actually been suicidal in the past, because being raised in the church he was taught he was wrong. Once he was out on his own, he made the decision to break from the church to save his own life. Sad, I know.

He doesn’t want children for exactly the reason you state. He also turned down the offer to be the Godfather to one of his nephews.

He doesn’t wear his homosexuality on his lapel. He’s very private about it. He speaks very well and properly. Like I said, you wouldn’t know he was gay if you met him. We were all shocked when he said he was.

Hence the reason I don’t believe homosexuals are the biggest problem for the conservative movement. He just wants to be left alone in his private life; left to worship how he wishes, love how he wishes, and live how he wishes: without government intervention in anything.

I expected to be attacked by some radicalized members of the Catholic Church while we were conversing.

I’m guessing that there was some sort of wrong done to you in your life, friend. Your vitriolic posts are dripping with immaturity. “D-bag?” “My homosexual buddies?” He’s not a “buddy,” he’s my cousin! He’s a member of my family, and I was taught to respect and love my family.

There was nothing defamatory or malicious about my posts, sir. I’ll not issue any apology for a “slanderous accusation.” Your pompous calumny speaks to your inability to have a rational and calm argument. You’re obviously incapable of discussion based on facts, as everything you’re spouting is hateful and brash.

I’m sure we have a lot more in common than most. I’m no radical Catholic. I respect any religion espousing life and independence.

Ok. You have anything more intelligent to say than that? Maybe something involving the actual topic?

When did Christianity become a religion of exclusion?

God in the Old testament and Christ in the new Testament are not tolerant of other "Gods". You are laboring under the view of Christ as a cool itinerant hippie-type who was tolerant of everything. Christ was God Incarnate. He welcomed sinners into His presence in order to save them. He was not tolerant of their sin.

As I see it, I have two identities in my daily life: "Christian guy" and "Secular guy". As "Christian Guy", I am concerned with salvation, faith, the truth of the Bible, church doctrine, etc. If, in a discussion about Christianity, someone asks "aren't all religions equal?", I would say "No. Jesus said 'I am the way and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through me'." (John 14:6) NASB

As "Secular Guy", I am concerned with things of "this world", like sports, music, politics, my job, etc. I happen to work for a company owned by Jews. I carpool with an atheist and a Jew. A Muslim guy works for me in my department. We do not discuss religion, but only secular things. if one of them asked if I thought my religion is the "only" religion, I'd say "Yes, I do". All religious people should say that. If they do not, they are not truly religious and are not truly worshiping a jealous God, but rather using the tenets of a religion as a "life guide" (unless they are members of some sort of universalist religion that believes in pretty much everything).

So, certainly, I can interact with non-Christians and even leftists in the secular world. I have personally hired homosexuals for jobs because I thought them fitted for the work. My wife and I used to do a lot of community theater work, and we were surrounded by homosexuals. In the secular world, I have no problem with them as long as they don't evangelize their lifestyle to me.

I would have no problem with your gay friends. I assume I would not even know they were gay if I met them. That's because they are apparently comfortable in their own skin. Many homosexuals are IMO self-loathing narcissists. They are narcissists because they think the world gives a damn about their lifestyle and their pride in their lifestyle. However, secretly, deep down, they know that society from pretty much the beginning of time has looked down on their lifestyle, and they fell conflicted. They feel that everywhere they go, people are looking at them and judging them. So, they attack institutions like religion in the misguided hope that when they stamp out all religion, they will eliminate all judgment, and they can walk down the street with the self esteem of any "normal" person. Whenever they convert Christians into accepting their lifestyle, they are on their way to toppling a church.

In the secular world, they can be as gay as they want. But in the Christian world, their lifestyle is sinful. If I had a gay relative, I would not disown them. But, I would consider such a person an unrepentant sinner likely to be consigned to hell. I would not try to "change the rules" of my church, or modify my religious belief because a loved one is facing damnation. Jesus said we must not prefer family members over God: "Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it." (Matthew 10:34-39 NASB)

My father has never professed a belief in God. If he dies and unbelieving sinner, I expect he will go to hell. But that's up to God.

I had no problem in the ‘80s with homosexuals. Even kind of liked them, they reduced the competition for the ladies. They wanted to be left alone, and that’s between them and God. Now having kids and seeing how the indoctrination has drastically increased, how there are groups which put first their homosexuality first (i.e. Log Cabin Rep., GOPride, etc.)this has gone way beyond staying out of their bedroom. They want to be in our living room.

I’m with you, Stevio. I don’t want them evangelizing around my kids. I can’t help if they’re out and about in the world, but I will raise my children to cast aside anything consider sinful, including homosexuality.

I agree as well. But if gays HAVE to be Homosexual Conservatives instead of Conservatives who do the adult thing and keep their sex life to themselves, just as heterosexuals should do, btw, then they shouldn’t get angry with Christian Conservatives who also wear their affiliations like a badge of courage.

To: Sans-Culotte

Well played, Sans-Culotte. I don’t see Christ as a “hippie-type,” but my understanding was that he was the kind shepherd. He’s not going to cut off the legs of a lame lamb just for being lame, He’s going to do what he can to save that lamb.

I’ve done what I could for my cousin. He doesn’t evangelize to me or my family, and from what I’ve seen, he walks the walk and talks the talk of a true conservative. Christian piety is not the only part of conservatism.

I have my feelings on the teachings of the church, but this is not the forum for that discussion. With regards to the focus of this thread, I believe you’ve made your points perfectly, and I have nothing to say in objection to your discussion. Thank you for being a strident proponent of faith. I could only pray to be as strong with God as you.
