I can do better than that. While stationed in Germany, at Ayers kaserne, one of our people took a tank and crashed through the gate(happened every now and then actually), I was on guard duty with another soldier, we both fired our .45s but, of course, did little damage to an M48A1. He was eventually subdued when he ran out of gas.

This does not mean that I think the act in this article was an act of soldiers trying to steal something, I think it was terrorists, mainly because they haven't released their names and it pi**es me off the way they claim "not terrorism" before they even have an investigation.

It is a big NO NO to run a gate at a military installation. Let’s hope the one dead is the guy who ran the gate and not the guard.

At Vandenberg there were always miitary police on the gates until the heavy deployments, Now there are rent a cops. But they are pretty good.
