Yes, since the original crime occurred in the local cops’ jurisdiction.

Per Fox - a car smashed through the gate and then shots were fired.Same EXACT thing happened at Fort Lewis when I was stationed there. It happened at the Ammo Supply Point (where the Division keeps the "go to war" ammo) to one of MY special duty guards. They draw the armed guards (full mag locked and loaded back then -- 1980s) from the units on post on a rotational basis. So some drunken YAHOO decides he wants more ammo for the huntin' season or whatever "issue" he had and squeals up to the gate, pulls a power slide around and aims right for the gate. I wasn't on site at that moment as the Staff Duty Officer for the Division I was miles away up at Division HQ. But I read the reports. The troop smartly and precisely took his M16A1 off his shoulder, chambered a round and brought the rifle to a standing unsupported position. He and the perpetrator locked eyes and the car kept coming. The troop cranked off three rounds and all went thru the windshield and impacted the driver in the chest and head. He died instantly but the vehicle continued on and took out the gate as the guard moved out of the way. That wasn't a terrorist, just a drunk who ummmmm died on the road. lol.

The original crime was car theft and took place in the local town surrounding LAFB (Glendale, AZ).

"Everybody Knows" that the M-16 is a wimpy mousegun poodle-shooter toy made by Matty Mattel, shooting a minor caliber round incapable of hurting a flea!!!!

I have heard interviews of people at the gate....and yet none of them describe the perps!
Why not? We are at war. We just had Ft. Hood. The Ft. Dix 6 before that. Why no description? To ignore the demographics of the perps is sheer lunacy.

Thanks. I wonder if this was an act of stupidity or an act of war.

I hope this wasn't another act of "Diversity".../S.
Our diversity, not only in our Army, but in our country, is a strength. And as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think thats worse, Casey said.

I can hear the conversation now between the two perps. “Hey let’s drive onto Luke AFB” “Good idea! They won’t be able to catch us there.”

Air Force bases have Air Force Police. U.S. Army bases have M.P.S..I know I am being picky....the only difference is the name and some of the work they do..Im an old grumpy MP vet....Actually, at least it was this way when I got out 16 years ago, the Air Force has Security Police (SPs).

In a sane world, Casey would have been fired the moment those words came out of his mouth.
Imagine Germans attacking us from within and the top General of the time saying that diversity must not become a casualty.
Sheer lunacy!
