The laws on bribery work as you’d expect except for those in power. They are specifically written in such a way that makes it near impossible to prosecute them. For them bribery is standard business—just look at the cornhusker kickback. That is a bribe by any definition, but it’s standard operating proceedure for politicians so they have to write the laws in such a way that allows them to “do business”.
Plus all the guy has to do to make it legal is to say, if you don’t run for senate you know you’d make a fine {fill in the blank}. But we need to fill that position before the election so if you choose to run we will have to look elsewhere to fill that position.

Absolutely.
I wonder what part of “You have the right to remain silent, anything you say CAN be used against you” this moptop lawyer doesn’t understand.

Third, Shift the aura of power from the centralized location of DC to Topeka Ks for no more that 30 years, then shift it to Wyoming for no more than 30 years, and on and on till you hit all fifty states. Once Power is removed from DC, make it a memorial city of the history of the US, the arts and science.
Someone on FR commented a while back that with the technology now available, all Senators and Representatives should permanently reside and vote from their home districts. All conferencing, voting, etc, can be done via phone, the Internet, or other technological means. That way, they are right there among their constituents.
It sounds like a great idea to me.

Just one problem I see with moving the seat of power away from DC... gonna really put a dent in prostitution services...

And since all Impeachments must begin in The House of Representatives, it means Pelosi must cooperate...not much chance of that. Maybe we shoudl impeach Pelosi first, then Obama, and as for Reid, he already has started Alzheimers and will not be reelected...2010 is shaping up to be a better year, if we boot the buzzheads out.

I was kidding about the USDOJ the other day being terrorists. I was actually pretty accurate. They are terorist sympathizers and we don’t even know all of their names yet. They STILL WANT trials in NYC. Obama wants to bankrupt this country any way to get there quickly. NYC terror trials will be impossible to pay for.
