Tea Party Revolution Could Undermine Republican Republican Jewish Outreach

An angry "Tea Party" movement that Republican leaders hope to harness to boost their party's chances in the in the 2010 congressional midterm elections could also be a potential blow to GOP outreach to minorities - including Jewish voters.

"It's not a danger at the moment, but it bears watching," said Abraham Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League. "We've seen this before, and it always carries with it the risk the militants and extremists really will get a foothold. All such manifestations are threatening to minorities."

In a report last year, the ADL warned that the Tea Partiers are part of a broader trend that also includes resurgent "militias," "birthers," and other extremists, bound together by "an intense strain of anti-government distrust and anger, colored by a streak of paranoia and belief in conspiracies."

I don’t see it. One would expect the ‘Rats thinly disguised outreach to Muslims to undermine Jewish support. While I expect that the Reformed Jewish voters will stick with the ‘Rat Party, other factions may be very open to supporting Republicans. I haven’t seen or heard anything to suggest that the Tea Party movement has any malice towards Jewish people.

Wifey is Jewish. And a Tea Partyer. Most of her Jewish relatives don’t really give a damn about Israel. They are too into themselves and their comfort, even though they have relatives there. Very liberal. Thankfully her parents are very conservative. Most U.S. Jews will never vote Republican, unless we move to support welfare, gubmint assistance, and abortion.

As I've posted on this site before, the real number is probably about ten points lower, due to the questionable polling techniques used to arrive at it. Nonetheless, much too high considering what the Obama regime is all about.

The irony here is that these Jewish leftists consider Jews to be a “minority” when it comes to things like party identification, while they have no complaints about Jews being excluded from “minority” status (and special benefits) when it comes to things like affirmative action, nor do they urge that Jews have a special “minority” box to check on the US Census form, for example.

The theory here is ridiculous. Jews did not vote for Goldwater, Nixon or Ford, prior to the rise of the religious right. Too many of my coreligionists either are not Jews, but lox liberals, or have succumbed to the politics of grievance.

Grievance politics unites disparate minorities in unthinking opposition to the majority, even against rational self interest. The politics of grievance is an unthinking ersatz ethnic loyalty, wherein one defines oneself in opposition, rather than in being. It leads Jews to support political correctness, immigration of Muslims, and Third Worldism, even though these are all against their rational self interest as an Americans or as a Jews. It leads black leaders to support immigration, liberal social politics, and objectively failing education and social models. And this doesn't just apply to minorities in the West. Grievence politics in the form of anti-colonialism allows the South African regime to support Mugabe's starvation of fellow Africans in the once prosperous Zimbabwe. This minority nihilism will go on as long as the white West allows it to. We must stand up against it not only for our own survival, but also to save those afflicted with this illness. If the majority in America or the West does so, it will allow the rational loyal members of minorities to be heard. But first the civilizational AIDS of liberalism with its control of the media must be destroyed. Imagine if the media went to Thomas Sowell instead of Jesse Jackson, or Don Feder instead of Abe Foxman. The failure is not only of the Irish, Jews, Blacks, Hispanics. It is that of the English and WASPs.

In so far as my actual coreligionists (including my parents) are turned off by the tea party antics, it is because of alienation from middle America and because of cosmopolitan groupthink.

Remember that Reagan was able to get about 40% of the Jewish vote vs. Carter in ‘80. It is possible for the GOP to make vast inroads, especially when you have an incumbent ‘Rat who makes no secret about where his sympathies lie, both internationally and domestically. Plus, Jewish voters as a whole would figure to get more conservative with the passage of time as the pro-FDR mythology dies out and the more observant Jews become a greater percentage of the Jewish population, due to greater reproductive rates and lesser assimilation.

Conservatives support the State of Israel and the Jewish people. However, American Jews place religion before politics, the religion of Liberalism.

Foxman is first and foremost a leftist, and only secondly concerned about the real welfare of Jews or of Israel. When conservatives reach out and try to help Israel, he regularly kicks them in the teeth.

That's exactly what I said in post #1. In fact, you'll find that there are quite a number of Jews who are part of the Tea Party movement. I know personally about that!
