Remember that Reagan was able to get about 40% of the Jewish vote vs. Carter in ‘80. It is possible for the GOP to make vast inroads, especially when you have an incumbent ‘Rat who makes no secret about where his sympathies lie, both internationally and domestically. Plus, Jewish voters as a whole would figure to get more conservative with the passage of time as the pro-FDR mythology dies out and the more observant Jews become a greater percentage of the Jewish population, due to greater reproductive rates and lesser assimilation.

Yes Reagan got 39% against Carter and Anderson and got 31% in his reelection effort in the massive sweep of 1984.
Historically that has happened a few times, but there isn’t any clue that I can see, to winning the Jewish vote in that, and historically the Democrats sometimes get 90% of the Jewish vote.
