Lautenberg Hypocrisy: Ambulance taking Him to NY After Fall Not Allowed to by Obamacare He Voted For
Associated Content (AC) ^ | February 21, 2010 | Marc Schenker

Democrat Senator Frank Lautenberg is in the middle of huge hypocrisy when it comes to health care. The ambulance that he told to take him to NY after his fall this past Monday—which turned out to be related to stomach cancer—would not be allowed to take him there under the Obamacare bill he voted for on December 24! This absolute position of two-faced double-standards exemplifies the type of "people" Americans are dealing with when it comes to the scandalous debacle known as Obamacare. These people—all the Democrats including Obama and Lautenberg who want Obamacare—essentially take this attitude: We know better than you, fellow Americans, and we will shove Obamacare down your throats whether you like it or not, whether most of you oppose it according to polls or not. However, in our private lives...tee hee hee...we will not limit ourselves to the same restrictions and instead do as we want!

Actually, the headline here is not accurate.

Lautenberg would have been 'entitled' to the ambulance under the 0-care bill he voted for, just as T. Kennedy would have been 'entitled' to the cancer surgery he received.

They both would have enjoyed special priviledges under 0-care, because they made sure they would be part of an entitled class under the bill.

What you REALLY mean is that WE would not have been allowed to have the ambulance. Or the surgery. Or the treatment. MAYBE a couple of aspirin, after the brief and rushed doctor visit that we had to wait 6 months for, AFTER we were able to find a doctor who would accept the payment levels 0-care would allow.

It would have been nice if they’d given some details. Why would the ambulance not be allowed to take him to the hospital in NY? Would it be forbidden to cross state lines? Would there be a distance limit? Would they be forbidden to carry patients with stomach ailments? Oh I know, they’d be forbidden to carry senators.

The details are in the FULL article page 2 , obviously this is excerpted ... In Obamacare ambulances are not allowed to leave their local area.. Laut had an ambulance take him from N.J. to Manhattan.. presumably the ambulance rule is designed to limit charges for long distance and to encourage people to go to the nearest hospital rather than crowd the best hospitals.

He would have been “entitled” under Obamacare because politicians operate under different rules than the rest of us.

If it had been you or I, we would have been told to take a number and wait in line.

Okay, now I’m scared. I wouldn’t send a stray dog to the hospital in my “local catchment area.” We always request transport to a hospital across the state line.

I had no idea that Obama Care was so precise as to get down to where Ambulances could take people.

Good Lord.

This crap has got to go.

The doctors in the ER of my local hospital SEND you to the “big” teaching hospital across the state line. And it doesn’t have to be for anything uncommon either.

Rename, repackage, rewrite it a tad smaller, and sell another pig in a poke.

Tennessee has joined several other states in trying to pass a Health Care Freedom Act. NO COLAs for granny, retired Military or retired fed employees. BIG NEW fees for Tricare for Life retired over 65 Military's secondary health ins. (DOD bill already passed, delayed but goes into effect 2011)

Obama says slight fix will extend Social Security

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

http://economicspolitics.blogspot.com/2009/05/tricare-for-life-is-obama-trying-to.html

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.)

Congress plans to block Tricare fee increases
http://www.armytimes.com/news/2009/10/military_tricarefees_blocked_100709w

By Rick Maze - Staff writer, Oct 7, 2009

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.

Snip

The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Snip

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.

“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.

Bambi doesn't keep his promises...so buyer beware.

"In Obamacare ambulances are not allowed to leave their local area.."

In rural areas this could be a death sentence especially for trauma cases. Many hospitals in rural areas are not equipped to handle serious trauma and are little more than medical clinics. Taking a trauma patient to the closest hospital would mean the patient would be untreated or their treatment would be seriously delayed until the appropriate bureaucratic approvals could be obtained to evacuate them to a trauma center. In serious trauma if definative treatment is not begun within the first hour, survival drops dramatically.
