It would have been nice if they’d given some details. Why would the ambulance not be allowed to take him to the hospital in NY?
*****************************************************
The details are in the FULL article page 2 , obviously this is excerpted ... In Obamacare ambulances are not allowed to leave their local area.. Laut had an ambulance take him from N.J. to Manhattan.. presumably the ambulance rule is designed to limit charges for long distance and to encourage people to go to the nearest hospital rather than crowd the best hospitals.

Oops. I didn’t see the page numbers. I went to the link, and thought I had read the full article. Thank you.

Okay, now I’m scared. I wouldn’t send a stray dog to the hospital in my “local catchment area.” We always request transport to a hospital across the state line.
