The bid was looking good until the arrogant Obama flew in on just a single to give a single speech that was all about insulting America while praising himself (as usual).

Thanks Obama, Ya Jackass!!

Good. Give it a rest for a while, then when the timing is right, let one of the big cities that can handle these things like L.A. or N.Y. go for it.

With the ammount of debt America is racking up and the way Obama is spending money we can’t AFFORD to have the Olympics in the USA. I have hear that the security costs alone for the Vancouver Olympics is going to run almost $1 Billion.... barry and Congress is already wasting Billions for the “Stimulus”/Obama Democrat Slush Fund that has not created any jobs....

That’s OK as long as we get to dominate in the medal count.
BTW the last time the US had the most medals during the Winter Olympics was in 1932. We can do this!

"The cold and hard reality is Chicago spent approximately $80 million on its bid,"

How?

The Summer Games has become so huge that its a guaranteed money-loser. Think Athens is swimming in cash after hosting theirs? Barcelona? It could very well be that almost nobody is going to want to host them by 2020. Then the IOC will give the games to Havana or Pyongyang who’ll use it for propaganda purposes, not for sport.

“Chicago spent approximately $80 million on its bid”

Barry’s inept Chicago Olympics bid is a microcosm of his Administration to date - profligate spending with no tangible results. Barry’s bloated ego is high maintenance.

Why not nominate Detroit? The union thugs at the UAW and SEIU can provide “security” for the event, ACORN can provide the “imported” adult “entertainment” for the tourists and athletes, AmeriCorps can work the stands, the Black Panthers can valet park, Michael Moore and his interns can film the events and the millions of homeless can cook Rainbow stew, roadkill and meth with a side of Thunderbird for the guests.

So “Boy Blunder” who is the worst salesman on the planet and cannot close a deal, much less a closet door, is the cause of our inability to host?

Will wonders never cease.

Are you saying that Spiveys Corner will not be making a bid this year?

“The cold and hard reality is Chicago spent approximately $80 million on its bid.”
How do you spend 80 million on a bid? What a complete ripoff.
The olympics are a luxury that we can not afford. Let them go away for another day.

“...the U.S. Olympic Committee does not plan to enter a U.S. city in the race for the 2020 Summer Games...”

No one holds the Olympics in a third world nation populated with dusty villages and starving poor people...

Just setting the stage for the next steps in the Hussein Plan.

The US may not want to seek out the Olympics soon, but Texas may.

Let the world have it... we can show up and kick all of their arses and then leave... letting the rest of the world pay for the party. While we are at it... kick the friggin’ UN out of NY and drop our membership.

This made my day! No blowing what $20+ billion for a 2 week event. London is spending over 10 billion pounds for their games. Vancouver went for a couple of hundred million to over $3 billion.

The IOC is going to everything they can to give it to Africa that year anyway. How the World Cup goes this year may have a lot to do with it, but they made history by awarding Rio in 2016, and now they will try the same in 2020. Best to look at 2024 (if America or the world still exisits by then, God have mercy on us all).

What a waste for different cities to spend all that money every time an Olympics comes around! Build one “uni-world” venue the summer and another for the winter. Hmmmm, just use Antarctica for the Winter Olympics!

I’d rather get the World Cup, especially since odds are that the Finals would be held right here in Dallas at Jerry World.
