FORT WORTH -- Marvin Bahnman doesn't like where the country is headed.
He believes in small government, fiscal responsibility and conservatism.
So he carried a sign that said "You can't fix stupid, but you can vote them out" outside the Cowtown Coliseum in the Stockyards, where a get-out-the-vote rally Saturday drew supporters of the Tea Party and 912 Fort Worth grassroots movements.
"I'm not a Republican," said Bahnman, 74, of Fort Worth. "I am a conservative."
Inside the coliseum, decorated with candidate signs, flags and balloons, dozens of candidates on the March 2 Republican primary ballot spoke to hundreds gathered there.
For many, Saturday was a chance to hear from some candidates who feel the way they do -- tired of big government and career politicians.
"I'm concerned about the direction the country is going with freedoms, spending and big government," said Daniel Esparza, 45, of Fort Worth. "We need people who will bring us back to following the Constitution."
Former Secretary of State Roger Williams kicked off the rally, hosted by the United Conservative Coalition of Texas, which represents the Tea Party, 912 and other conservative groups in North Texas.

You are missing the point: Glen Beck didn’t ask her if people had questions about it, he asked her if she, herself believed that the government had a hand in it.
Actually there were two direct question to her which didn’t involve a Waltz Across Texas answer.
1. “Do you believe”
2. “would you disavow” .. this one was in regards to campaign workers
Medina is running for Governor of a State.
You want Palin to be President for crying out loud.
I certaintly hope you can see the differences in the two jobs.
Oh, so, you don’t need leadership skills to be a governor. Got it.
Can you please provide me with a source? I didn’t see that she made that statement anywere...
The real problem Media has is that she has no money nor any special favor from the press or her own party. Others can create her image and the folk with all their “feelings” in reality know nothing about her, like they know nothing about Perot, Obama, Palin, or Kerry. They just have a feeling, an emotional response they have been conditioned to feel, not unlike Pavlov's dog.
You can take snippets and bloopers of nearly anyone and make them out as stupid, nuts.......whatever:

Your entire argument hinges on an “interpretation” of a single facet, a few second exchange in words that are quick rhetorical superficial shots back and fourth............ I have yet to see anyone here make any statement reference anything substantive based on the issues and the candidates positions on them.
What's her position on abortion, a federal marriage law, boarder security, state road tax, health care reform................?
No real Texan would vote for Ron Paul supported truther trash. Medina supporters should find another state to pollute. Texas doesn’t want you.
I watched a complete hour of her on video with Alex Jones and another shorter segment, as well as the Glenn Beck interview and the follow up press conference when she questioned the lives of NY policemen.
However, I already knew that she was a Paul groupie and the silly sales-tax-goes-to-Austin idea proved that she’s got wild ideas. There’s no State property taxes and if my property taxes are too high, I need to get my schools and sheriffs’ department to cut back. It’s easier to work with the local school board and County commissioners than to try to get Wentworth to listen or appeal to the fairness of Senfronia Thomas.
I’ve been asking and researching this question: when did she ever go to Austin to lobby for legislation, walk a legislator through the process of changing the laws she doesn’t like, or even walk the halls of the Capitol and hand out flyers to her Senator and Rep? Where was she when we FReepers protested or rallied all these years?
When has she worked to lobby for her “positions?” I’ve sat up all night waiting my turn to testify in one committee or another - and sometimes ran from one to the other to get my chance to speak. I’ve never seen her, even on our pro-life and small government bills.
Sarah Palin obviously has proven that.
Then based on your own twisted logic, you should love Sarah because you’re supporting a candidate in Texas who isn’t qualified either.
Wow are you dense. Again, since when are the responsbilities of President identical to governor?
Sarah Palin would be a disgrace as President.
Bimbo in Chief.
But keep up the great work! We enjoy it!
Consistancy in thought? You think State Governorships contain the same amount of hours and job duties as the President of the United States.
This is your consistant thought you are proud of?
Yes.. let’s give the Bimbo-In-Chief with a pile of kids (including a special needs kid) a 24 hour job after she couldn’t handle the heat of her last one.
That’s a winner.
Oh, please, keep going... I, along with the rest of FR, is awaiting your next post with baited breath.
