Syracuse Universitys announcement that it has taken the unusual step of hiring a pagan chaplain reflects a welcome open-mindedness to diversity and religious pluralism.
The colleges roots are in Methodism. But the appointment of Mary Hudson as the 11th chaplain at Hendricks Chapel shows the broadening of religious expression in America and one hopes, religious tolerance in the 80 years since the chapel opened its doors.

Wouldn’t pagans have a shaman?
“Pagan chaplain” - huh? Isn’t that self-defeating?
I’d rather see some more open mindedness to real science, history, econ, etc courses, less open mindedness to all courses taught by a department with the word “studies” in it.
And some real diversity, not the chrome-plated plastic bull-Obama that comes from those who really shouldn’t even drive streets close to a real university- this includes the vast majority of talentless trolls that currently are on the faculties of our “great” universities.

I was at a Methodist event this weekend where the featured guest, a member of Methodist clergy, is the “spiritual life director” at the liberal Methodist university where she works.
Check the Methodist schools in your state to see the last time they had an actual Christian speak at a commencement address.
Why any person who is not on the far left still gives to the UMC is beyond comprehension.

So one of two thing is now true. Either:
a.) Syracuse is no longer a Methodist University of ANY sort.
or
b.) Methodism is no longer Christian.
Why did you feel the need to post this twice??????
