I saw a picture of the photos behind President Obama's desk in the Oval Office. I saw pictures of his kids and wife but I didn't see pictures of his mother, or grandmother and grandfather. The pictures were small so it was hard to tell what was in the older pictures framed on the library table. Are there pictures of his mother, grandmother and grandfather on his mothers side?

If their grandparents raised them and bent every effort to get them into a posh private high school which eventually set them off on an Ivy League-primed career, they might have pictures of them in their office, in gratitude, if nothing else.
That particular photo of the Statue of Liberty is the closest thing to having a picture of it being dismantled.
Lastly, he's removed the "desk set" to give his office a clean, modern look. In short, the Oval Office now has as much charm and personal appeal as a display in either Staples or Office Depot.
Obama is never at the office. It would stay clean,no clutter if you are traveling & never home.
There are some older pictures

That picture was done by Norman Rockwell for a cover of The Saturday Evening Post in July of 1946. It’s been in the Oval Office since 1994.
“This original oil on canvas work was once owned by noted film director Steven Spielberg, a long-time fan and collector of Norman Rockwells work. Mr. Spielberg, who serves on the board of Norman Rockwell Museum, eventually donated the painting to the official White House Collection in 1994. Since that time, Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama have each had it on display in the Oval Office (an interesting note is the placement of fellow illustrator Frederic Remingtons sculpture Bronco Buster below the painting). An additional series of Rockwell worksappropriately titled So You Want to See The President (Saturday Evening Post story illustration, November 13, 1943)are also on loan to the White House, and on view in the buildings West Wing.”

No need to vacuum behind the desk, no one is ever there.
