I’ve never eaten a “black” before, and I had no idea that they were farmed.
It is long past time that we End Farm Subsidies.
However, if it was shown that the Feds treated farmers differently due to their race, these people deserve the money.
And then we should stop subsidies to all farmers.

Announced a 1.25 billion US$ special fund to compensate African-Americans who claim a denial of assistance from the USDA. Needs Congressional approval. Is a second round of payouts to cover damages awarded in a 1999 class-action lawsuit.
This round of pay outs is for those denied earlier payments, usually because of missed deadlines.

I really do not know too many farmers that drive Cadillacs and have gold teeth. However, we do not to end all farm subsidies.
I would be interested to see evidence of this.

Scroll up the thread. The last Class Action was ‘settled’ in 1999.
They missed deadlines and are whining that the government did not act because of this?
What makes one a “black” farmer? The shade of ones skin? How about a person who has white skin but in the background there is a black relative...then what?
I call that discrimination.
Do these white folks with a black relative in their background have to dress like Al Jolson and sing “Mammy” to be noticed?
