Stack overflow error?

He was into embedded systems. I suspect he failed to set the stack pointer on reset. That quickly leads to a crash.

Here’s something strange.

On Greta’s Show on Fox News (02-18, 10 p.m. EST) they replayed the initial footage (2:03 p.m. EST) and commentary on the plane that was crashed into the IRS building in Austin. In this initial report, it was clearly stated by emergency responders that THIRTEEN people (NOT 2) were injured in the incident and there were TWO (NOT 1) fatalities. The fatalities were the man who was flying the plane, Stackhouse, and an IRS employee inside the building.

Why would the account of those injured (13 versus 2) and dead (2 versus 1) differ so much in the span of 5 hours when Shepard Smith later reviewed the incident in the 7:00-8:00 p.m. news hour on Fox News?

He even looks like "D-FENS" Michael Douglas, with a little imagination.

Can you imagine the laxative effect on the left if the right rose up and marched on DC armed to the teeth.

Can you imagine how fast those in DC would be running to the airports in the effort to leave the country.

The feds will probably use it to go after General Aviation as well,

You're probably correct. I was considering getting a Private Pilots license, not anymore.

Beautiful city.
Been there about 8 times.
Capitol lovely at night.
Lots of libs like most state capital cities. Lots of blood suckers suckling the teet of govt.
But I’ll take your word.

Funny, in Atlanta the more conservative north is trying to break away. Guess they are tired of paying for ALL the blood suckers in the central city.

I set up a C-Corp at one time — to qualify on a bid as a subcontractor on a contract to IBM for replacing computer systems for a toll bridge commission. Otherwise I never really used it.

If I was a Section 8 minority — a black woman with a Hispanic surname, say — I would have definitely used a corporate structure. Then I would have done very well in the railroad business, at the least.

Also see my post a few minutes ago about Stark’s screed.

Aircraft crashes into Austin office building

By AOPA ePublishing staff

A Piper Cherokee PA-28-236 crashed into an office building in Austin, Texas, Feb. 18. Law enforcement officials have stated that the aircraft was flown by owner Andrew Joseph Stack III.

“We at AOPA are deeply saddened by one individual’s self-destructive act in Austin, Texas, today, and hope that those hurt recover from their injuries quickly. We hope that the one individual not accounted for is found safe,” said AOPA President Craig Fuller.

“It is important in the days ahead that we not overreact to this isolated act of suicide by a deeply troubled person and jeopardize the ability of hundreds of thousands of law-abiding U.S. citizens to fly. We need to let the parallel accident and law enforcement investigations proceed and not rush to ill-informed judgments or precipitous actions.”

AOPA will continue to stay in touch with the FAA, Transportation Security Administration, and Department of Homeland Security officials.

According to FAA records, Stack held private pilot instrument and single and multi-engine ratings.

Shortly after the crash, the FAA issued a temporary flight restriction over the accident scene to maintain safety because of media flights. The agency later canceled the TFR because the area is located within Class C airspace, and all flights are in contact with ATC.

AOPA is fielding calls from the media and working to minimize speculation so that the facts can be reported.

We now know the IRS worker who was killed in the attack on an office building in Austin. He was Vernon Hunter, a 67-year old Revenue Office Manager. He was responsible for collections. His wife, Valerie also works for the IRS and was in the same building when the attack happened. They have six grown children who live outside of Austin and who are flying in to be with their mother.

Valerie Hunter says before yesterday, she had never heard the name Joseph Stack. He’s the man investigators say set fire to his own home before getting in a plane and flying it into the office building. Witnesses confirm it was a deliberate attack. They say the plane looked like it was “dive-bombing” the building that is next to a busy Austin freeway. Stack left behind a lengthy, obscenity-filled internet post expressing his frustration with the IRS. Within hours of the attack, several Facebook pages were created in support of Stack’s barbaric attack. Looking at the building and the surrounding area, it’s amazing more people were not killed or injured. Another person was also severely hurt in the attack, a worker for the Texas Comptroller’s office.

Stack’s wife has decided not to talk with the media at least for now. http://liveshots.blogs.foxnews.com/2010/02/19/victim-in-austin-plane-crash-identified/

A C corp is a lot of work to set up and maintain. My son has set up a few, but he had 60 employees. It was the right thing to do as a real estate broker/lender with a building full of busy agents.

One of my vendors on the railroad project set up a C corp in his wife's name. He is Indian and makes multiple trips to India each year to work with friends and associates. He was formerly a co-worker at my current company.

I will do a something else — an LLC or LLP — when I have to do it again. I think there’s a few other choices today too — is that right?

You should. You have the right. Don't let some idiot Congressman scare you away. Learning to fly is a great experience.

You know what, I am offended by newsfolk calling this guy a “domestic terrorist”. Actually, the IRS are the terrorists. Clearly the man was driven to destruction. He simply snapped. As a born again Christian, I am deeply offended by what Glenn Beck had to say - any of us who are interested in the “birth” issue are a violent fringe element. A little part of the country. I say “ BS”. It’s alot more than a little part of the country. And in addition, he has no right to judge everyone who simply wants to see that their President is Legitimate? For God’s sake? What is so violent about that? I’m puzzled frankly. I watch and tape Glenn everyday but yesterday really disturbed me. He is spending far too much time with O’Reilly who I perceive, actually hates his guts and is jealous of him. O’Reilly is simply using him. But we must remember, Beck is a man, and he will not get everything right. Only Christ was right all the time. CO

Glenn is choosing his battles. He doesn't want to push so hard that he loses his platform. As for Joe Stack, his action was emotional outrage. It was hardly a carefully planned act of terrorism. His leftist screed railed at the IRS for what he perceived as persecution. It was mostly a consequence of self-inflicted legal errors that cost him large sums of money. It clearly drove him over the edge. His act of desperation in burning his house and crashing the plane into the IRS building is minor compared to what will happen if the RATS try to seize 401k assets. A nation of desperate, dispossessed people will make for a very ugly scene.

I’ve been driving past that building a couple of times a week since January ‘11. It was just a skeleton then, an incomplete one. Now it’s pretty much all enclosed again. But it’s still not in use as far as I can tell from the freeway (183).
