Police filed several charges against a Durham woman in connection with a fire at 2220 Lincoln St. on Wednesday afternoon.
Crystal Gale Mangum, 31, and her boyfriend, Milton Walker, had an altercation, according to a police news release.
Mangum set clothing on fire in the bathroom tub, police reported. Three children and the two adults were evacuated from the apartment.
Police charged Mangum with five counts of arson, simple assault; identity theft; communicating threats; damage to property; resisting, delay and obstruction; and three counts of child endangerment.
Anyone with information should contact Officer H. Thompson at 560-4415 Ext. 29297 or Crime Stoppers at 683-1200. The incident is still under investigation,

Which would make it the second time she tried to kill someone. The first is when she tried to run over a cop with a stolen car.
They need to lock this woman up for a long time. But I wonder if she will get off lightly again.
Well, it's good to see the Durham authorities have toughened up the procedures and policies since the last go-round with Ms. Mangum. I'll just bet the neighbors were thrilled at the 3-hour long negotiations with someone whom I'm sure is a refined modern woman, her “boyfriend” whom I'm certain was a model of stoicism and her three cherubic children all of whom I feel confident slept through the entire ordeal. What a night in Durham!

Good for you! I tried to join them again after they switched boards, but I fell through the cracks when it came to getting approved. I lived by LieStoppers during the hoax! And I still have Tony Soprano’s Whitesnake Rockstar parody on my iPod (even though he has since removed it from youtube). That was my favorite of his parodies. Nifong and the guitars!

I was surprised to see that one of the defendants’ attorneys is representing John Edwards. Maybe I shouldn’t be. NC is a small state.
