Disappointed also. But we’ve all known about Fred’s unexplainable love for John.

John is such a user. He made a clever move in selecting Sarah Palin, but it was self-serving. He thought her youth, enthusiasm and conservatism would counteract the perception of him as old and too liberal.

It did. He wouldn’t have done nearly so well without her, but when they lost, I think he decided she cost him the election. He did not stand up for her when his staff and even his wife and daughter made snide remarks.

And now, he’s using her again. He’s had the nerve to put her in an untenable position by asking for her support. She’s gonna suffer either way. She simply cannot turn on the man who chose her for VP. She’s not that kind of person and it would look bad.

I do not blame Sarah for supporting John but I blame him for using her once again.

I hope Hayworth doesn’t get discouraged and remembers how things can change. Remembers Massachusetts.

If you knew anything about Fred, you knew there was a 100% chance he’d back McCain.

How could you be dissapointed?

So was his campaign. If he hadn’t been so lazy he could have had the nomination and might have beaten Obozo.

I supported Fred throughout his misspent time leading many to believe he was interested in running for president. This proves to me he was not interested and handed McCain the nomination. Bye Bye Fred.... J.D. is a solid Conservative and McCain needs to go ....

“Fred is very disappointing.”

Well, there goes the pretentions about Fred being a strong conservative. He would have been better to keep his mouth shut on this one! Wonder if he and Sarah spoke on the subject (I like Sarah still, but this is getting to be a pretty edgy topic.)

Also, JD isn’t perfect (no one is), but comes down right on the issues.

Fred Thompson was always just a spooiler to split the conservative vote. (ala Huckster)

Fred Thomppson is just retreading his job as conservative distraction in order to split votes and protect the RINO.

Yes it is, but both Fred's and Sarah's endorsements may be as a matter of form where they don't do much campaigning for him.

The article said:

"..McCain also has the backing of U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl, Tempe Mayor Hugh Hallman, Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane and former running mate Sarah Palin..."

That is a short list for a long time incumbent. McCain is way ahead in the polls, but the support may not be that firm.
