It never ceases to amaze me that those who stand in from of a camera and speak someone else's words from a script begin to think they are intellectuals. The really amazing part is that there are legions of people out there that hang on every word from these morons.

Equally amazing is that an actor who is a nutjob/a$$h0le away from the movie camera can yet project intelligent and likeable characters on screen (if you watch them there dispassionately).

Of course, they are particularly prone to the blandishments of celebrity; so many are in the profession because of the adulation they receive from the public. And this attention from the man in the street is what makes an actor an effective pitchman for this or that company or cause (at least until his private behavior becomes too publicly egregious).
