We had a lot of snow here in Tulsa as well. I loved it. I love cold. I don't like to be cold, but I love cold weather.

My wife is a kalifornian, and she hates it. But I love it.

Thank you Mr. Bore for the cold weather and for showing yourself to be such an idiot. A lot of us knew you were stupid, but we weren't sure if you knew it. Now you do.

Al Bore doesn't know squat about science. He and his "Gore-Bull Warming".

Here is the political spin on all this cold and snow: To defend the climate Armageddon predictions, the global warming enthusiasts have declared that warmer temperatures introduce more moisture into the air and therefore create more snowfall. The global warming faithful say these weather extremes are a sure sign that global warming is here and we had better change our ways because global warming is even worse than we thought!

Well, technically, warmer air does hold more moisture than colder air. So, in certain situations, such as really cold areas, as the temperature warms and nears freezing, there would be an increase in snowfall, IN THOSE AREAS.

In areas where the temperatures are already at freezing, the increase in warming would result in temperature increasing to ABOVE freezing causing RAIN, not snow.

So, for most of the continental US, and about anywhere in the world outside of the Arctic and Antarctic, saying that warming = increased snowfall, means that they believe that warming = cooling.

What morons.....

The first time climate alarmists tried to scare Americans, Grover Cleveland was President and it was reported in the guess what? NYT. They predicted that a mini ice age was headed our way and millions of people would die from starvation because food would be in short supply.

They have predicted doom and gloom 4 times prior to the 1970s. Changing the type of catastrophic results the climate would cause. before the late 70’s when they got the idea of perpetrating a hoax to extort trillions of dollars from hard working citizens to fund tinhorn dictators of third world countries while ruining our economic growth for the forseeable future.

If the AGW cultist are correct, (Global Warming initially means more snowfall), we should have set most of our records for snow fall during the winter of 1997/1998. That was the year of the strongest El Nino in recent times. Very warm waters are associated with El Nino's. Our current El Nino is only moderate and fading. Never got close in strength to the 1997/1998 El Nino. Most of the snow records we are breaking this winter are from the colder 1960-1980 time frame and of course many of the broken records are much older then that.

The El Nino of 1997/1998 was a major event. Here is how it looked on the globe at its peak. Also note the very warm waters along the Western US and Eastern US.

Here it is on September 1997.

You can go to the web site below to see the snow levels that were reported in the US for the months of January and February of 1998. Select Snowfall Total and the year and month and also check the Do Not Display Stations with zero amounts box. Then press submit. A map will be displayed that is only externally linkable for about 15 minutes.

U.S. Snow Monitoring: Historical Monthly & Seasonal Snowfall Maps

During the winter of 2007/2008 we experienced a La Nina.

You can also go to the US Snow Monitoring link above and select January and February of 2008. What you will find when you compare 2008 to 1998 is that overall snowfall rates were about the same in January 1998 (El Nino) as they were in January 2008 (La Nina). The Percent of Normal map will show a difference in distribution. However in February 2008 (La Nina) the snow fall was greater then February 1998 (El Nino). The Percent of Normal map really illustrates the difference. What that means is that during one of the strongest El Nino's in recent times, we had less snow in February then during our recent La Nina event. So the warmest ocean water we have recently experienced did not cause more snow then the cold ocean water we experienced in 2008. Charts were not available yet for Jan/Feb of 2010, but just about everyone knows snowfall has been historically deep in the Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Southwest, Northern Plains and the Midwest. Coincidentally, water is cold on the east coast this year.
