Using his strongest language to date, Sen. Judd Gregg (R-NH) continued to sound the alarm about the dangers Barack Obama's budget policies pose to the fate of the nation in a speech given today to the New England Council in Bedford, New Hampshire.
The Ranking Member on the Senate Budget Committee has been speaking out in very stark terms about the effects Obama's trillion dollar deficits and out of this world spending will have on the near and long term future of the American people.
The Union Leader quoted Gregg as saying Obama's fiscal policies will lead to bankruptcy for the nation.
Gregg took aim at the President's $3.83 trillion proposed budget, which the Senator claimed would lead to economic disaster.
"We are right now, unquestionably, on a financial course which is unsustainable, which If we continue on this course, will lead our nation into some level of fiscal bankruptcy."
The AP quoted Gregg as saying Obama's policies will likely cause a "horrific event."
"The threat is that five to seven years from now we're going to have to substantively devalue the dollar, creating an inflationary event which would be a horrific event for the American people ... or alternatively, we will have to raise taxes so dramatically to catch our tail here on the spending side that we will basically crush productivity."
Gregg used slightly less alarmist language when he wrote in Investors Business Daily in June 2009 of his concerns about the ruinous debt Obama was planning for the nation.
Right now we are on a perilous and unsustainable fiscal course, which, if left unchecked, will lead to some disastrous results devaluation of the dollar, massive inflation and a confiscatory tax rate on our children that will destroy any hope for the same economic opportunities and lifestyle that we have enjoyed.
Gregg's proposal for a bi-partisan Congressional committee on debt reduction was recently waylaid by partisan brinksmanship.
Gregg is retiring at the end of the 111th Congress after serving three terms as senator.
“”horrific event.”
My idea of a “horrific event” is seeing leftists hanging from trees and lamp posts from sea to shining sea.
Well, other than arming myself, which I cannot see happening anytime soon, how about money?
“...we need to hold these traitors accountable.”
.
And do WHAT? Give them a tonguelashing and slap their wrists several times?
“Is there a soul about who doesnt know bankrupting the United States is the plan of Obama and Reid and Pelosi?”

Some seem to think it is a matter of incompetence alone, which I find amazing, it seems to me that anyone incompetent enough to believe that what Obama is doing is good for America would have to be sitting in the corner blowing spit bubbles.
Believe it or not some are stupid enough to believe that we are having a real recovery and things will be back to normal soon.
Gregg was one of the first GOP senators to push back on obama.

At least on this topic.
Who knows?
Senator Gregg seems to have been mugged by reality.
Considering he was tapped by Obama for a cabinet position, his words have substantial weight. And his words are some of the strongest I’ve ever heard uttered by any serious politician (dem hyperbole notwithstanding)... and he’s shouting them from the rooftops.
He’s become something of a hero, as far as I’m concerned.
Seven years after Sept 11, we elected a mysterious person of the name Hussein to the presidency.
Three years after Hurricane Katrina, we elected Looter Guy to the presidency.
He’s not the problem, the people who voted for him are the problem.
Money, I would convert some to gold modestly, conserve food, perhaps even get a case or 2 of MRE's (Army Navy stores)
Then have conversations with friends & family on the reality of what is going on. read, study the constitution. Become active in local politics.
Do not accept the status quo, and do not become disillusioned with being called fringe, I think that the founding fathers were called extremists (and they were) but for the call of freedom, there is no second chance, you have it or you don't, (and we don't)
LOL, there is not a legal reason for impeachment yet, but hopefully soon. AND there is not support for it in Congress, and hopefully the “voting public” will start a new majority in NOV 2010.
NO, we pray for all of the illegal and corrupt deals to come to light, and hopefully something will be large enough for Congress to act.
Excellent question. I wonder what his voting record’s like.
If worried, invest in things people need, like energy, food, real estate. Also, some gold.
As for impeachment, baloney. That’s boob bait. Congress has the power of the purse. If Obama won’t veto out of control spending (and he won’t) then the only other body that can stop it is the body that wrote the damn spending bill in the first place. Might take a government shutdown or two (oh, the horror!), but it will accomplish more than another pointless (and inevitably failed) impeachment.
Amen to that. I think we're going to get a lot of 'fringe' and 'conspiracy' talk from the MSM in the coming months, so everyone hang tough. Fight on!
Marxist? Right on - see what this Dr from CA has to say about Barry the Marxist when he was in college.

Because just like McCain they are in on the gig.
Actually impeachment is not like a lawsuit, and here is the procedure explained quite well:
