ConocoPhillips, BP America and Caterpillar pulled out of a leading alliance of businesses and environmental groups pushing for climate change legislation on Tuesday, citing complaints that the bills under consideration are unfair to American industry.
The sudden pullout of three corporate giants from a leading alliance of businesses and environmental groups could be the death knell for climate change legislation languishing on Capitol Hill.
ConocoPhillips, BP America and Caterpillar's announced Tuesday they will pull out of the U.S. Climate Action Partnership, citing complaints that the bills now in Congress are unfair to American industry.

HAHAHAHA
Hot damn, this is awesome news.
The writing is on the wall for global warming, time to come up with a new scam, though global warming will be really hard to beat. The scam of the millenium.
Awesome....just effing AWESOME......I’m gonna make sure I buy some BP now...
LOL -— Looks like Caterpillar will need another talking to.
I agree. As scams, dodges, and hustles go, AGW was an ambitious effort.
What about the fact that the entire thing is a SCAM, the data manipulated, manufactured, and then "lost", the scientists involved now acknowledging that there is no proof that exists, and no explanation of past (pre-industrial) warming periods, etc., etc.? These seem like pretty good reasons to tell them all to F*off too.
The DUmmies got fleeced by algore and they don’t even know it. Talk about stupid. They still believe in it too.
Next I want to see them push Medical Savings Accounts for their companies and tell BWaney, Nancy, and Harry to stick their Obama-Care...
Putting their money on the truth and the end of dim rule.
LLS
could be the death knell for climate change legislation
We’d be a lot better off in Michigan if the idiots in Lansing had the sense to ditch the greenhouse gas pact we signed a few years back. It only doubled our energy costs and cap and trade would double them again at least.
Caterpillar is an Illinois company. Obama sandbagged the CEO at a campaign stop for his porkulus bill. He made it appear that the CEO supported the stimulus and would rehire workers if it passed, when the CEO (his name escapes me) said no such thing and did not agree with Obama.
It is just beyond me how a state like Michigan or California’s citizens [probably a good many hardworking, taxpaying ones, too] can expect to continue with this farce of socialism and experimentation in ‘taking for the good’ of others which only ends in confiscatory taxation and idiocy. It is ultimately self-destructive and counter-productive and WILL end badly.
Now that the lie is known by everyone they are pulling out because their cash cow is dead.
After all, they DID jump on the bandwagon early, when it appeared they could profit from it.
It looks like they supported fleecing us before they didn't support it.
A month or so back a big energy trading company in Holland Mi. backed out of a deal to buy power from wind farms in the UP. They said the efficiency simply doesn’t exist. Instead they have to buy electricity from a “green” generation plant that burns wood chips at nearly twice the cost of coal fired plant.
The Dominos are falling.

Oh, they'd be perfectly OK with that if they could use the scam to their own advantage. Industry doesn't sponsor laws for the public good.
