Just from the perspective of blogworthy content, Im thrilled. A Huck vs. Palin race would be fascinating, but having Mitt in the mix all but guarantees a centrist elites vs. populist conservatives storyline for the nomination. Cant. Wait.
One of the first big moves of 2012 Mitt Romney Names Matt Rhoades PAC Executive Director: BOSTON Mitt Romneys Free and Strong America PAC announced today that Matt Rhoades, who has held senior positions on major presidential campaigns and at the Republican National Committee, will serve as the PACs executive director. Hes been a friend and an adviser for several years now and Im pleased that he has agreed to run the day-to-day operations of my Free and Strong America PAC. He shares with me the view that 2010 is going to be a critical election year, with many races and lots of opportunities to elect Republican candidates, said Governor Romney.
Rhoades is currently a Vice President with DCI Group He replaces Peter Flaherty, who will become a Senior Adviser to the PAC. He previously served as Communications Director for Romneys 2008 presidential campaign During the 2006 election cycle, Rhoades was a Deputy Communications Director in charge of research for the Republican National Committee. He also was Research Director for the 2004 Bush/Cheney re-election campaign. Rhoades also has held the position of White House Liaison at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management in the Bush Administration.
According to Ben Smith, whos reading this as a surefire sign that Mitts in, Rhoades also has a pipeline to Drudge. Consider this a follow-up to last nights Quotes of the Day that showcased the makings of a bold Romney gambit: A path to the nomination that would concede the south to whomever emerges from a Huck/Palin bloodbath and focus instead on winning New Hampshire and Michigan early and then cleaning up in the coastal states. (Dont laugh: Scott Browns win reportedly has Republicans coming out of the woodwork in blue New England.) I find it hard to fathom losing Iowa, South Carolina, and Florida to an opponent and then cleaning up on Super Tuesday, so expect Team Mitt to quietly push behind the scenes for bluer states to move their own primaries up to help their guy build a little early mo.
Heres Ron Brownstein from this a.m.s Morning Joe handicapping a Romney/Palin white collar/blue collar class warfare clusterfark in the primary. My heart says stop but my traffic sensibility cries proceed. Exit question: Are Huck and Palin going to come to some sort of understanding before the primaries that only one of them should run? If they both jump in and draw off each other, it leaves Romney alone to skate through by cleaning up with centrists. And Huck, at least, would probably find that prospect intolerable.
I pray you are right.
Soupy’s good too..Ha!
Just say no to Northeastern gun-grabbing liberals....I wouldn’t vote for this man.
Where might we find a video of Sarah addressing the 500?
Ditto. Check my sig.
Romney is not going to get the movement conservatives he got last time. And everyone is now aware of RomneyCare...he can’t spin this as a battle between religious conservatives when everyone is ticked off at Obamacare.
It would be smart to not let the media decide who the Republican Presidential candidate will be.
If it is not Sarah Palin, the media wins again. They gave $800 million of free propaganda to Zero. Ronald Reagan could not have won and his poll numbers would be where Sarah's are today if they did to Reagan what they are doing to her. Remember how McCain's numbers were so good until he was running against Zero! The media manipulated the election and the polls.
We would be wise to take back the media by going around them and not letting them dictate our nominee.
We could strike a blow to them once and for all by doing all we can to get Sarah elected!!
The biggest reason they hate Sarah are her Pro Life Stand and her Christian faith which she doesn't hide.
>>>Q: What’s worse than a President Obama?<<<
Ans. President Obama disguised as a “conservative Republican”. IOW, President Romney.
Even if we assume that that pro-abortion, ant-gun, pro-homosexual weasel, who unlike Obama, successfully established socialized medicine, would be slightly better than Obama, we still should make it clear we will never vote for him.
Let the RINOs choose between Palin, Demint or Pence or some other real conservative and a second Obama term. We have let them coerce us into supporting RINOs, rather than elect a Democrat. This time we need to force them to support a conservative or be responsibe for a second Obama term. Let them compromise this time, I won’t.
Besides that, RINOs always lose the general election. If given the choice between a RINO and a real Democrat, voters chose the latter. The best way to guantee a second Obama term is to nominate Willard.
Here is the Bing listing. I have not found a Fox cut yet.
Check out the Chris Matthews segment first.

Unless a solid conservative gets the GOP nomination, many of us will write Palin in. The stupid GOP leadership just doesn't get it. If the GOP RINO establishment gets their way...2012 will be lost and there will be no more time for them to learn the lesson. With Zero in power we wouldn't have a free county in 2016.
I hope I'm wrong and I wish I didn't feel that way because it will be disastrous for the nation...4 more years of Obama and most likely a permanent 3rd party. Bye Bye to the America that we once knew if that happens.
