A Massachusetts man is under arrest for the stash of guns police found in his possession.

Authorities took Gregory Girard, 45, into custody Wednesday afternoon on weapons charges after apparently finding dozens of guns inside his Manchester-by-the-Sea home.

A judge in Salem District Court ordered Girard held for evaluation.

The arsenal included close to 20 weapons, including rifles, two handguns, two bayonet knives, flare guns, six pairs of handcuffs, as well as a pair of both kevlar vests and helmets.

Tear gas and pepper spray grenades were also allegedly discovered at Girard’s residence.

All the items were acquired by Girard within the last nine months, according to police.

“He was convinced that martial law was imminent,” said a prosecutor on Wednesday.

"convinced that martial law was imminent"

After being raided by para-military agents of the government, and having his possessions seized, I can't imagine why he'd think martial law was imminent..

I'd bet he's totally convinced now....lol

>>The fee for an FID card is $100.00 and it is valid for 6 years.

Would be better to make it $100 for a voting card. With a million dollar fine for buying one for anyone else.

It’s usually safer to turn the basement into a firing range. The third story should be reserved for the sniper’s nest.

You nailed it.

See, they live in a society where the mere accusation of impropriety de facto means a conviction.

He may well have said none of those things, but it matters not. The article is clear as mud, usually a tip off that something is amiss. Just sayin’, stories can be deceiving.

All of the items listed in that article can be purchased legally over the counter and sent to your home. I will not tell you where but believe me it can be done.

If a company can legally sell it to you or if you can legally have it delivered to you home by UPS then how can it be illegal?

I bet you they could put over 75% of the people from Massachusetts in jail if they really wanted to for one reason or another.

How many of you can name any of the 10,000+ new laws that came onto the books as of 1/1/10. I will bet 99.999% of readers reading this could not even cite over 5 new laws that have gone into effect.

The day is coming when the SHTF and all of those laws wont mean squat to anyone. In fact, when the SHTF there will be no laws to deal with, only the laws you want. A mile down the road and that could all change again. God Help you if you get caught in Massachusetts when the SHTF because you wont make it out alive.

My advice to this guy is to get a good lawyer, get a divorce and move out of that state to someplace where guns are “SACRED” and the people are not “SCARED” of firearms or the people who own them.

I didn’t know any of that stuff was illegal?!?!?

If he has a Class A, Large Capacity, License to Carry, here in MA, I can't see that any of what was mentioned was illegal for him to either purchase or to own.

Now he might be a cup and saucer short of a full place setting, but he hasn't done anyone any harm, even his Psychiatrist wife. And frankly, I'm suspect of what she might have to say, considering her profession, and that she practices in Cambridge. ;o)

Hubby and I took the opportunity to go ahead and get our LTCs here in MA, because frankly we weren't sure what Deval Patrick might start trying to do vis a vis individual gun ownership. We haven't even bought a handgun yet. We're gonna go to the local Pistol and Rifle range with our Firearms Safety Instructor to try out different guns. I've only ever fired an air rifle, so it's gonna be interesting and fun!

So let me get this straight, it doesn't sound like any of those items by themselves are illegal, it's just that aggregating them together is somehow to be construed as illegal.
What are the cut off points? 20 guns? 10 guns? 5 Guns? …...
This is a serious question – this supposed to be a free country.
Just where does National Socialists Media decide the line is crossed between you're right to self defense and what THEY have deemed ‘too many guns’?

Failure to Register ALL his guns. Remember, Massachusetts is the model state for the rest of the nation when it comes to gun control.

I imagine Massachusettss is also a model for a place where the Far-left National Socialist gun grabbers can cite the success of said gun control. /sarc

Personally, I would advise anyone interested in liberty and freedom to get the H@ll out of states like Massachusettes while the getting is still good.

Folks, think of this as an object lesson, if you are getting prepared (and you're a fool if you're not), you really need to follow some basic rules:

Buy with CASH whenever you can – you can pretty much assume that anything you buy with paperwork – credit cards, etc. will be known and will have you tagged.

Buy in disparate places – don't buy all your supplies in the same place, sad to say but it's looking like even buying non-perishable food is becoming ‘UN-PC’ as it were.

Keep quiet about it, don't advertise what you are doing.

By the same token (yes, I'm going to contradict myself) encourage others that you can trust to also prepare, you don't have to blab to others just what you have, but it would be a very good idea to get like minded people to also prepare.
