Facing Toughest Re-Election Bid, McCain Moves Right on Several Issues
Fox News ^ | February 13, 2010

Faced with his toughest re-election battle ever, John McCain has moved to the right on several hot-button issues, like gays in the military and climate change, and has built a campaign war chest of more than $5 million.

Defeated just two years ago as the Republican presidential candidate and with his bonafides as a true conservative again being challenged, John McCain finds himself in a struggle to get even his party's nomination for another term in the Senate.

Many conservatives and Tea Party activists are lining up behind Republican challenger and former talk radio host J.D. Hayworth, reflecting a rising tide of voter frustration with incumbent politicians. Only 40 percent of Arizonans have a favorable view of McCain's job performance.

[According to] Rob Haney, chairman of the Maricopa County Republican Committee covering the Phoenix area ... "We cannot depend on that man to be a conservative."

McCain faces growing frustration at home. A poll last month by the Phoenix-based Behavior Research Center found his lowest approval rating since January 1994, when McCain was in the midst of the "Keating Five" scandal in which he and four other senators were accused of trying to intimidate regulators on behalf of a real-estate developer later convicted of fraud.

McCain's once-powerful support from independents is particularly lacking; just 38 percent approved of his performance.

And now, it is a good thing he did lose -- and we have the bitter pill.

Had he won, Obama would not be in the Oval Office and it is doubtful there would even be a Tea Party movement.

Most of those who are now in the Tea Party would be growling and groaning at the things a President McCain would be doing -- like closing GITMO, more bailouts, etc.

Carter gave us Reagan, and no, I didn't miss Ford during the Carter years.

Obama may likely result in a more staunch conservative President, and no, I don't miss Bush and don't want brother Jeb running.

We need new blood, new faces -- not only on Capitol Hill but in the White House and executive branch.

“McCain should put that train-wreck of a daughter of his in witness protection for the duration. While he is at it he should put a muzzle on Mrs. Budweiser too.”

I believe that he should buy ad space in every newspaper in Arizona and on every local tv station and every radio station giving those two wastes of oxygen 3 minutes to spew their hatred of conservatives.

In fact, I pray he does that very thing!

Look at the lack of support for McCain on every conservative forum! Now look at the vile radio ads his “friends” are running. He’s not campaigning for the connservative vote , He’s trolling for independents and PO’ed Clinton voters.

Call it like you see it-

1963 Communist Goals-
15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States.
Global warming, TARP, Cap and trade, amnesty, and now on the heels of gubbermint healthcare Mac rolls out this dietary supplemint BS. Can’t swallow the whole wheelbarrow full of socialism Obama’s pushin? Vote McCain and get it a shovel full at a time. JMHO

If McCain wants to be more conservative than Jim Thompson he should retire and throw his AND Palin’s support behind Hayworth.

Yes, I’ve noticed that. McCain and Romney are both now running as fierce right-wing conservative warriors. They’re running away from their actual liberal/statist records faster than Forrest Gump shedded his leg braces. Run, RINOs, run!!

Run them right outta town!!

Well I was looking for a famous quote. Could not find what I wanted. So here is mine:

John McCain:

Be gone. Just go. Do not trouble us further. Just go.

I remember years ago being chastised because some of us criticized most republicans as republicans in name only. When these RINO’s were the majority and in the white house they were apparently good enough for so-called conservatives. Geez, and now they are losing their voter base? What happened Elmo?

Free thinkers have been watching the one party system (republicrats) systematically destroy our country in almost every way imaginable. Now its amatuer hour at the white house as our society is so dumbed down the voters cant even keep a marxist community organizer from becoming president.
