Faced with his toughest re-election battle ever, John McCain has moved to the right on several hot-button issues, like gays in the military and climate change, and has built a campaign war chest of more than $5 million.
Defeated just two years ago as the Republican presidential candidate and with his bonafides as a true conservative again being challenged, John McCain finds himself in a struggle to get even his party's nomination for another term in the Senate.
Many conservatives and Tea Party activists are lining up behind Republican challenger and former talk radio host J.D. Hayworth, reflecting a rising tide of voter frustration with incumbent politicians. Only 40 percent of Arizonans have a favorable view of McCain's job performance.

[According to] Rob Haney, chairman of the Maricopa County Republican Committee covering the Phoenix area ... "We cannot depend on that man to be a conservative."
McCain faces growing frustration at home. A poll last month by the Phoenix-based Behavior Research Center found his lowest approval rating since January 1994, when McCain was in the midst of the "Keating Five" scandal in which he and four other senators were accused of trying to intimidate regulators on behalf of a real-estate developer later convicted of fraud.
McCain's once-powerful support from independents is particularly lacking; just 38 percent approved of his performance.

I have lost all respect for McLame and this is another reason why . He sounds like a real conservative lately ,,, I wonder why ,,, could it be an up coming election cycle ?
We need to get rid of McCain , Grahm , Snow , Collins etc. If you are not a “ Constitutional Conservative “ get out of the GOP and perhaps go the way of Arlen Spectical ,, but please go . Dim bulbs like McCain may cause conserv. republicans to leave the GOP and Mike Steele is not a very good party Chairman at all ,, which leads me to believe that there will be a party split and total disaray in the November GOP elections . Great for the DIMs ,,, bad for the country .

A typical, spineless RINO, more interested in the approbation of the NY Times and CNN than standing strong for the rights of the American people. He has spent 2 decades selling out and betraying the US, the American public and the republican party, all in the pursuit of “bipartisanship”—the lefts’ definition of “considered moderation”... in other words, being a piss-ant, limp-wristed, spineless wimp, bending over and grabbing one’s ankles for every leftist, anti-American piece of crap that comes down the pike.
First question, do you believe national government health-care is Constitutional?
What limits do you see that are placed on the commerce clause?
And the ever popular question which determines belief of individual liberty -- Where do you stand on the Second Amendment?
And you can always toss in where do you stand on documentation needed to determine ability to serve in federal offices?
Get the hell out! We are done with government draining the life blood of honest working people. We had no income tax during the best part of our formation as a nation. Stop it now!
Anybody who believes that this jerk is really going to STAY to the right after being elected AGAIN is out of his mind. In fact, I can’t imagine that even the stupidest voters could believe it at this point, after a lifetime track record of betrayals.
It’s not as if this is some young politician vowing to turn over a new leaf. He has spent a lifetime showing us every wart.
Yep, sick of it.
Go Hayworth! Kick McCain's arse to the curb!

We all have our own reasons why we do not want John McCain re-elected. Let us all join together in protest as he makes his guest appearance in Tucson at the “2010 LINCOLN DAY DINNER”.
It is time to have our battles before the primaries. The Republican party needs to know how we all feel about McCain and their support of him. We can all unite once again before the election and support the conservative, but now is the time for action.

My question is : Where did the 5 million dollars come from?
Who is putting up that kind of money to get this RINO re-elected?
Certainly it isnt coming from Conservatives.
And to parody my famous “fence” quote, I say: I’ll be a god**** conservative.”
Probably businesses and people McCain’s helped out during his years of voting.
BOUNCE him for a real conservative! He's served long enough...citizen legislators were what the Founding Fathers wanted, what we have are career politicians instead.
If he started turning water into wine and multiplying fishes, I wouldn’t vote for him.
I'd guess a whole bunch came from the NRSC and other GOP PACs.
Everytime I see him now I see his daughter sayin “revolution is for the young not the 65 year olds! and Im a progressive republican.......(like my daddy?)
Keep her talking she will sink the SS Mccainiac
McCain was on Hannity the other night, laughing with Sean about the snow in D.C. and mocking global warming. All I could think about was the photo of him often posted here on FR holding a sign saying ‘Stop Global Warming’.
He LIES! ... and is a PROGRESSIVE DEMOCRAT. Geld the traitor.
