Blagojevich admitted that the offer was made to his chief of staff at the time.

And that was...?

Obama emissaries offered to raise a bunch of money around the country for him if he in return appointed a certain candidate that they were interested in.

Ben Nelson's “Cornhusker Kickback” also netted him a cool $500K, transferred to his campaign fund the first banking day after his Christmas Eve sell-out health care vote.

Justice Department Briefing on Blagojevich Investigation:
Patrick Fitzgerald, United States attorney general for the Northern District of Illinois [speaking to press]:
Published: December 9, 2008, New York Times

Excerpts from the transcript:

Fitzgerald: "In the governor's words -- governor's words, quote, 'Fire all those bleeping people. Get them the bleep out of there. And get us some editorial support', close quote. And the bleeps are not really bleeps."

(snip)

Fitzgerald: "A month or so ago a $1.8 billion tollway project was announced. While that tollway project was being announced, Governor Blagojevich was privately seeking to have a person benefiting from that contract raise $100,000 in contributions, and privately the government (sic) said, 'I could have made a larger announcement but wanted to see how they would perform by the end of the year. If they don't perform, bleep 'em.' That's a quote. And the word 'bleep' was not the word he used."

(snip)

Fitzgerald: "The governor's own words describing the Senate seat, quote, 'It's a bleeping valuable thing -- thing. You just don't give it away for nothing', close quote."

Fitzgerald: "Another quote, 'I've got this thing, and it's bleeping golden. And I'm just not giving it up for bleeping nothing. I'm not going to do it, and I can always use it; I can parachute me there,' quote. Those are his words, not our characterization, other than with regard to the bleep."

Fitzgerald: "The tapes reveal that Governor Blagojevich wanted a number of things in exchange for making the appointment to the Senate seat -- an appointment as secretary of health and human services or an ambassadorship, an appointment to a private foundation, a higher paying job for his wife or campaign contributions."

Blago's wife...

"Mrs. Blago, the former Patti Mell, won the hearts of old-school thugs everywhere with her f-word-filled rants captured on FBI wiretaps, some of which were colorfully detailed in the criminal complaint against her hubby..." --Michelle Malkin, December 17, 2008

Well Blago’s going on trial soon. If he has any evidence on this then I imagine it’ll come out during that.

Watched Blago’s interview with BOR last night. He sure didn’t want to say if the tapes they have are damaging to the Prez or Rahmbo. He just said that there was nothing “illegal”.

Something smells very badly in all this.

If you look in the dictionary at the entry for “weasel”, you’ll see a picture of Blago.

Blagojevich actually spent much of the interview obstructing, stonewalling and ducking and dodging, which stood in severe contrast to what Bill O'Reilly famously calls the interview segments on the Factor: the No-spin Zone.
Well, there goes any credibility, right there. Thanks Suvroc10.

RodBlagojevich told Bill O'Reilly that purported Obama emissaries offered to raise a bunch of money around the country for him if he in return appointed a certain candidate that they were interested in. Appearing on FNC's O'Reilly Factor, Blagojevich admitted that the offer was made to his chief of staff at the time.

I could not believe that Blagojevich would say this on O'Reilly's interview with him and O'Reilly went right over the top of it! I could not believe that he would not have made major issue out of this. If this is true Obama's people out right bribed him. This is a huge story, in my opinion, that Blagojevich admitted this. O'Reilly is pounding him for news breaking info and when he gets it he simply lets it slide by. Very strange indeed.

O'Reilly hammered and badgered Blago to the point of making an ass out of himself. Blago obviously was under constraints by his attorney not to let O'R bait and trap him into self-incriminatory slips. He kept his cool.

I hope Blago brings down Obama, Rahm, Daley, Fitzgerald AND O'Reilly.

They all suck.
