Medina is facing off in a GOP primary with Gov. Rick Perry and U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison.
Medina's absurd comments to Beck about U.S. government involvement in 9/11 included this gem:
"I dont have all of the evidence there, Glenn, so Im not in a place, I have not been out publicly questioning that. I think some very good questions have been raised in that regard, there are some very good arguments and I think the American people have not seen all the evidence there, so I have not taken a position on that."
Perry and Hutchinson immediately ripped Medina for such ignorant comments

LOL, you aren't reading the posts on this thread are you?
How could you be posting to someone that you are so confused about?
I can’t speak to Medina’s opinion of whom in our government was involved in the attack — but most “truthers” believe the Bush Administration was complicit. As for the Clinton Administration, there is a strain of “truthers” that believe the Clintons were also involved.
Personally, I do not believe the Clintons would ever knowingly or intentionally be involved in a terrorist attack on this country ... and the notion that they were is just as crazy as the notion that Bush and Cheney were involved. I do not believe ANY administration was involved, or capable of being involved, in this attack. Clinton has many shortcomings (ideologically and personally) ... but there is a distinction between perjury/sexual infidelity, and involvement in the mass murder of 3,000 American citizens.
SnakeDoc
The perception however is that she is a truther. To end this perception and have a chance she would have to make a statement attacking the truthers in the strongest possible terms beause of their ignorance and the danger they represent to the nation. This might not save her campaign, but nothing else would.
By the way, that video was not very convincing, I kind of assumed that Ron Paul might be a truther, but your inability to show evidence is making me wonder that he may not be.
I posted the transcript of the Medina interview in post 22, so I am well aware that she is something of a truther.
I said Medina was a Truther before she admitted it and had no “gotcha” links until today.
I know the sun is hot and I have never even been there.
This is as much evidence as Ron Paul is ever going to give us after he realized it was the political kiss of death.
Juries rarely get a full color video at trial and some times a grown up has to use judgment. Steel that is glowing red is probably hot; not all of us have to touch it to be sure.
That is why I will not show a monkey a math problem, they don’t get it.
“Welcome to Texas 5/5/2009, and thank you for your service.”
Thank you davetex. I actually landed in Texas right after Katrina, but got deployed to Afghanistan shortly after. Although I miss Louisiana, Texas has been a blessing.
Do you have a link to you posting that?
That’s too bad. I was excited to see the GOP establishment getting a run for their money. However, I think the little bell on the egg timer went off indicating that the Medina campaign is done.
Question 1: I get the impression most here kinda like her, until today when she drove her political future over the cliff.
Question 2: Answers question 1.
You’re welcome.
“Texas has been a blessing.”
As it is and has been for so many.
Myself included.
You are welcome. Open government really solves a lot of problems. When they become secretive, it causes a huge disconnect with the people.
You would think they would know better.
Our transparency is among the reasons why America has withstood the test of time against countries such as Russia and China. We are much more easy to spy on. It is much more easy to assassinate our president.
But in the end, we consistently rise to the top because that tansparency leads to truth and to quick corrections when things go wrong. It leads to bad leaders being purged and to bad decisions being overturned.
Nothing good can come from ruling a society in secret, but these lessons have to be learned every so often and our current leaders seem to have completely forgot this lesson. They keep thinking they can reinvent the wheel, and they can’t. So they try to rule in secrecy, but when they are finally found out, it just ruins everything they wree trying to achieve and the lack of trust insures they aren’t returned to power.
You would think they would learn.
I didn’t know Medina was a truther, but there are plenty of other red flags which I’ve posted about since she threw her sombrero into the ring:
For starters look up Debra Medina’s column ‘Latinos and the GOP’
‘Its a shame isnt it, that Republicans continue to ignore Hispanics especially here in Texas?’ Debra Medina
‘Ignore them’, Mrs Medina? Since when? What more do you want? Or shouldn’t we ask?
Medina ad:
Who is going to think more about Latino families? Rick Perry, Kay Bailey Hutchison or me, who has a Latino family? (Medinas cultural heritage is German and Bohemian.)
She told a colleague last month in an e-mail. Being married, however, to someone with a Mexican American heritage, I certainly embrace the culture. But before she explained that, she told my colleage, who had asked her whether she considers herself Latina: Id not consider myself anything other than a wife and mother, a nurse and a patriot. I believe we too often get into race when its immaterial.
No, Thanks, Mrs Medina.
She is also running Spanish ads. Hello Mrs.Medina! If they cannot speak English then they have no business voting IMO. When they learn English then let them vote. Assimilate. Learn English. Appreciate all America gives you.
So Im sure she is blowing a lot of hot air just like Obama did just to get elected. Running those ads and saying what she has, tells me the border issue is just a try to get votes for herself.
Medina is about as qualified to be Governor as zero was to be President- want to re-visit how that is working out? She’s a Libertarian running on the Republican ticket. She is supported by the Ron Paul worship crowd and she herself has acted in the Ron Paul worship capacity. She has demonstrated a lack of knowledge about Texas law and current ballot initiatives.
No, thanks, Ill stick with ol RINO Perry. Texas has remained in better shape than almost any if not all of the states in the union under Perry’s watch. As someone said, ‘he’s the devil we know’.
The motly crew running for governor is laughable; a MUSLIM, a trecherous RINO woman* (Hutchison) and a woman with questionable loyalties
*Feds Have Built Only 32 Miles of 700 Mile Double-Border Fence Originally Mandated by Congress One reason DHS has been able to do this is an amendment that Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R.-Texas) slipped into an omnibus appropriations bill that Congress passed on December 18, 2007. Hutchisons amendment put a loophole in the fence law that allowed the secretary of Homeland Security not to build the fence Congress had mandated the year before.

I just heard the interview on youtube.com and that was one of the worst interviews I’ve ever heard; she was horrible! Glen’s reaction after the interview ended was fantastically hilarious! Here’s the link to the one I listened to:

“There is a time for partisanship and there is a time for getting things done. No one likes
the hand they’ve been dealt, and now is not the time to assign blame. It is time for
Washington, D.C. to step up, be responsible and do what’s in the best interest of
American taxpayers and our economy.
This economic crisis is not just impacting Wall Street; it is also making life harder for
everyday Americans. Americans across the country and in every demographic are
feeling the pinch. If Congress does not act soon, the situation will grow appreciably
worse. It’s time for leadership. Congress needs to act now.
Sincerely,
Rick Perry and Joe Manchin”
This google thing is great, I am glad you told me about it , it has opened up a whole new world for me & if I ever reach the third grade I may be as smart as you
Thanks for the link.
