London, England (CNN) -- Bindi Dupouy, an Australian living in Paris, and her French husband, just had their first child, a son born in the country.

Dupouy, a 28-year-old lawyer, got almost five months paid maternity leave from her company for the birth. She can take another seven months off beyond that -- a year total -- unpaid, if she wants, with her job guaranteed under French law.

When her son Louis was born, healthy and by way of a normal delivery, she got to stay in her local French hospital, around the corner from where she lives, for five full days, to rest.

What you want to encourage, you subsidize.

Obviously France wants babies.

What is the U.S. subsidizing????

I always dreamed of having my automobile torched by an angry mob of disaffected youths.

What’s not to like about 5 weeks of vacation a year and an unlimited number of Pugeots to burn?

It is stories like these that make me think we should support taxpayer-financed one way plane tickets to France (or any other such place) for anyone in the USA who might want them.

Thank you.

I love France and have been there many times, but,....they’re still full of “cheese” when it comes to the reality of the post WW11 era with the Islamization of Europe.

Read the latest issue of:

http://www.theatheistconservative.com/ to understand the perfidy of the French and British. Europe as we know it will be a goner soon.

10% of France is muslim... and they commonly group rape “infidel” girls.

I will say this...after having been through several parts of France. First...if you go through Paris or any town over 100k in population...it’s not worth talking about.

Second, if you go to small villages of 500 people...you tend to find alot of friendly folks and a fair amount of pro-American feeling...doesn’t matter what part of the country you tour through.

Third, farm regions are probably the best areas to stop for a meal and enjoy the company of the locals.

There are friendlier folks in Europe...that I will agree. But the French are a different breed when you start talking metropolitan types. I wouldn’t waste more than eight hours in Paris...and get out of town as quickly as possible.

There are some Americans (like me) who have visited Paris and Toulouse, and very much disagree. You'd have to put a gun to my head or pay me eight figures to live in France.

The article makes it sound like a very nice place to live if you aren't all that interested in working because of the long medical leaves, long vacations and strolls along the Seine or lingering for hours over a meal.

It's probably not so good if you are one of the people who actually has to work and pay taxes for the lifestyle.

Summary: “It’s a nice place because of what you don’t have to do rather than what you can do.”
