Who listened to Debra Medina on Beck and came away disgusted. She basically admitted that she is a 911 Truther.
Her run has ended
Perry’s no Ronald Reagan.
On this forum it does.
How’s that?
Are you trying to say that the aircraft did NOT crash into the towers?
No, I’m not. Jim, if you don’t want to answer the simple questions, that’s okay with me. I am the sort of person who believes that people should be questioning their government. Anytime the answers aren’t obvious or there’s questions about the evidence, we should expect to get the truth without having to beg or fight for it.
Jerry Patterson is running for Land Commish ...
you aren’t helping anyone writing him in for Gov (even though he’d make a good one!).
“I heard the whole thing. She could not say NO when asked if she believed the Federal government had a part in the 9-11 attacks. She said she did not have enough information, and that good points had been raised to support the Truther case.
And I was going to vote for her until about 10:14 AM today.”
WOW.
I think that says it all.
I too find Truther-ism wrong, nutty, and a bit dangerous.
Her failure to answer the question is a killer.
I question the government every damned day. But I have no doubt about who flew the planes into the towers. I saw one of them with my own eyes as it happened on national TV. And I have no idea what a professional pilot can do or can’t do, but I saw what these aholes did.
They planned to take out the congressional building, along with the White House, but overshot it.
I wish nothing but trauma on Islam, as they have plunged the only nation able to save their dumbasses into morass for ten years.
When the professionals question if a half trained Arab flew a 757 into the Pentagon, I will question it also. When Building 7, which wasn’t hit by an airplane, comes down in ‘demolition time’ rather than ‘self collapse time’, I ask, “How’s that possible”? Does that make me a truther?
Good grief. Look, if you want to play an idiot, have fun. Just don’t bring it to FR.
Yes, she did. The correct answer to Beck's question was "no".
Are there really any "right" answers? Aren't all viewpoints equally valid? Do we really wish to be so judgmental and negative about a fellow human being?
*snort*
Freeper Barbara Olson died when her plane hit the Pentagon...
Ditto Jim.
I know that there are already a lot of comments on this, but I'll add my two cents anyway.
In a nutshell, Deborah Medina has blown it, big time. Apparently, she did it twice, if you can believe that.
No adult American who lived through 9/11, and who loves their country would give even half a second's credence to the "Truther" theories.
Even if she privately holds doubts about the "truth" behind what happened on that terrible day, she'd keep that to herself if she had even a shred of wisdom and maturity.
Just the fact that she didn't stop to think about the effect that such a waffling statement would do to her candidacy, says that she's woefully unprepared to be a state governor.
I expect for her poll numbers to hit the basement now, and for her to leave the race.
An oxymoron, if I ever heard one.
True, but they do exist. They are rare however.
I don't know that they've been all that rare in recent times. A few notable names come to mind, such as Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Meghan McCain, Arnold Schwarzenegger...
I'd think of more, but I'm a bit under the weather.
Oh yeah - Dede Scozzafava. How could I forget?
Think about it folks, the government lies to us every freakin day about one thing or another. Y'all acknowledge it daily on this blog.
So, why give Medina such a rough time?
She slipped, made a stupid statement......so what politician hasn't.
Look at Gore, damn, oh damn, this guy was a stones throw from being our president.
How bout Clinton....what a lying, manipulating scum bag.
Hutchison’s lying about her record in Washington. Perry's lying about his “tough action” on the border among other things.
Look at the attack ads from both Perry and Hutchison. Man, it's pretty freakin distasteful. One dirty campaign on both sides.
So....is this better? As far as Glen Beck, I was kinda liking the guy, then he starts wigging as well. Demeaning the same folks he’z trying to energize.
What I do notice. When a viable candidate with common sense approaches to policy other than the status quo and they begin to become successful, they are attacked viciously and made to look like a nutcase.
Democrats and Republicans alike spend millions to keep the good ol boy network just as it's been in politics for years....no outsiders, you know, that use their own heads rather than the party talking points.
Give the lady an opportunity to explain. Folks are too quick to jump on the attack band wagon and possibly destroy an otherwise good candidate.
Just sayin
