A homosexual congressman from Colorado has proposed a law critics say would give controversial federal school safety czar Kevin Jennings a longtime homosexual-rights advocate almost unlimited authority to mandate indoctrination in public schools at taxpayer expense.
"It doesn't get much more fascist than this! It's a sexual revolutionary's dream," wrote Linda Harvey of Mission America.
Under the legislation by Democrat Rep. Jared Polis, Jennings "can create pro-homosexual programs and policies to their hearts' delight," Harvey wrote.
Jennings founded the "Gay, Lesbian Straight Education Network" and now heads the office of "Safe and Drug Free Schools" at the Department of Education.
Polis' proposal would provide special protections for students who claim they are discriminated against because of their "perceived sexual orientation." The bill would call down the wrath of the federal government on offenders by classifying "actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity" alongside race, color, sex, disability or national origin as factors on which protections are based.
In a statement announcing his proposal, H.R. 4530, Polis said, "Every student has the right to an education free from harassment and violence. This bill will protect the individual freedoms of our students and enshrine the values of equality and opportunity in our classrooms."
But it actually won't, according to an analysis by Harvey. Instead, she said it will allow Jennings a virtual open door to set up whatever pro-homosexual programs he would choose.

May God have mercy on this nation.......
The fruits are taking over while we stand around allowing them to do it.
2% my butt.
Gotta ping later.
1) Continue to send their kids stoooopidly thinking that their child's government school is different.
2) Continue to believe that if we went back to some magical time ( 1960, 1940, or the little red school house) that government schools would be different.
By the 1960s when I attended school my curriculum was 100% atheistic secular in its worldview with 2 minutes of the Lord's Prayer and one scripture verse in the morning. (Big whoop!) The push for secularism was **ALWAYS** the goal of the Utopian Progressives since the mid-1800s and the curriculum has **always** been in the direction since the beginning.
3) Believe that government schools can be reformed. They can't because government schools **are** socialism. Socialism can't be reformed.
And...**ALL** government schools from the very first that opened in the min-1800s have taught children to be comfortable with taking their neighbor's money for their schooling. Well?...If the government can take money from a neighbor for schooling, why not a thousand other wants and needs.
4) Believe that getting rid of the federal Department of Education or unions will fix the government schools.
Eliminating the Department of Education or unions won't fix the government schools because the training of teachers and curriculum has **ALWAYS** been in the control of the Utopian Progressives since the mid-1800s.
5) Fail to understand that **all** government schools trash First Amendment Rights and teach **all** children to be compliant slaves of the state. ( This was the goal of the Utopian Progressives and industrialists from the beginning in the mid-1800s).
6) Fail to understand that **all** government schools teach children to think and evaluate everything in their school day from a godless point of view. The statistics show that 85% of children from active and weekly church attending families will not be active in their church 2 years after graduation from high school! On the other hand 95% of homeschoolers are active.
Solution:
Conservatives must work to shut down **all** government schools. If vouchers, tax credits, and charters are used to build the infrastructure needed, the goal should always be full privatization with parents paying their tuition of their own children. Charity schools for the poor.
“school children should call in with the “pink flu” until all of this homosexual training and indoctrination stops in public schools.”
Your idea is commendable, but I wonder if it is feasible. Public schools mandate a certain number of days necessary to attend, and if the child is over that amount will deny the child credit in classes. If the child’s absence is due to illness, then documentation from medical professionals is necessary. In addition, my feeling is that most families are just not that concerned about homosexuality. They don’t approve of it, but on the other hand, they do not perceive it as any more than something a little weird. That being said, there are families who are disgusted with this ungodly promotion and despite their few numbers (here in NY anyway) should consider homeschooling. Homeschooling can be done even with a parent’s work schedule. I have several friends who homeschool their older children with video conferences via the internet. If enough of these families opt for this alternative, then perhaps some impact might be made.
The public schools of America have served so well as the boot camp for libs/marxists in the past; why give it up now!!!!!
My daughter is in college, but if I had a kid in high school, I’d simply give him/her my blessing to get up and walk out of the homo lesson. If questioned, the answer is “I’m capable of making up my own mind with regard to what is normal and acceptable behavior.”
I for one will NEVER be sympathetic or accepting of this behavior. I won’t watch shows or movies whre it’s pushed at me, I won’t have any close associations with gays, and I WON’T be told there’s something wrong with ME because of my beliefs. In short, I WON’T be told what to think. They’ve been trying for years to guilt us into acceptance, and it won’t work.
Oh, and by the way, I’ll use the word “GAY” whenever, wherever, and however I please.

Spot on, and I’ve been saying in Canada for years that the government has no business educating our kids, and that schools need to be private, along with everything else.
Unfortunately, Canada is so far down the socialist hellhole, there is no reversal, only way to freedom would be to take provinces like Alberta and Saskatchewan out of the confederation and become an independant country
Would you like a bandaid for that hemorrhage?
Gay propaganda is subtly woven throughout the curriculum from speculating on which historical figures (even historical scientists), writers, and philosophers may or may not have been gay to gay topics in biology and health and gym classes.

Kudos to those trying to reform the beast, but... well, I feel like it’s the Puritans vs the Separatists again. Some conservatives think the government schools can be reformed; some of us think they’re lost to us and we need to make sure alternatives like homeschooling and private schools remain viable.
There should be a nationwide movement to defund public schools. My schools are funded through my property tax still, pay the portion appropriate and escrow the school.
I agree...but you know what would happen. CPS called in, jail time, etc. I’m not sure that many parents have the guts to face the “forces”. The “powers that be”... know that as well...
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
In MA, H1728 would criminalize criticism of Transgender people. For instance, if a guy in a wig and a dress goes into the Ladies Room at Malden City Hall where my 76 year old mother works and she complains. She could face a $2,500 fine and a year in jail. State Senator Richard Tisei is running for Lt. Governor with Charlie Baker on the Republican ticket. Tisei is a sponsor of the bill and recently came out of the closet after announcing running for state wide office. Whoever aids or incites such criticism is also subject to prosecution. That would include the column I am going to write about it next week. I fail to see how Charlie Baker intends to win the Governorship without the Womens’ Vote. Men in wigs and dresses intruding upon women is a violation of the rights of women.
