SACRAMENTO, Calif. /California Newswire/ — Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today announced he will host the 2010 Summit on Health, Nutrition and Obesity: Action for Healthy Living on Wednesday, February 24, 2010. President Bill Clinton, founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation and the Governor’s co-lead in the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, will also participate.

“We have made significant strides in promoting healthy eating and active living since my first Summit in 2005, but there remains action that can be done to promote a healthier California for all,” said Governor Schwarzenegger. “I am convening the 2010 Summit on Health, Nutrition and Obesity: Action for Healthy Living to bring together diverse stakeholders to discuss the best policy and practices to promote healthy living in the Golden State. I am thrilled to join with President Clinton and The California Endowment to continue building upon our work for a healthier future for our children and all Californians.”

The Governor also praised First Lady Michelle Obama’s announcement today to fight childhood obesity in an ambitious nationwide campaign to raise a healthier generation of kids.

My thoughts exactly when I saw the title of your thread. Doesn’t he have a state financial crisis to handle in CA?

Movie-hunk Schwarzenegger is certainly a better spokesperson for fitness than chain smoking Obama or chubby Michelle. If he had only refrained from endorsing that couple. It makes him look stupid.

It seems he doesn’t have much on his plate. Things are running so smoothly he has time to worry about whats in your refrigerator.

But I’m pretty sure that isn’t what he was elected to do. You can see the dynamic, though. He can’t solve the stuff that matters, so he’s going to make a big show of worrying about stuff that doesn’t.

Sort of like O, who can’t govern his way out of a wet paper bag, wants to govern the weather. He’s president of America, but he wants to worry about the weather. Thats their division of labor in the post-constitutional era. The governor of the biggest state in the union will take over dietary questions and O will manage meteorology.

One of the cool things about a state having money to burn is its ability to have a summit on pretty much anything and everything. ;)

A wealthy society is self regulating with a governor that controls population growth.

Obesity is one of the governors. Obesity will kill off the population soon after 45 years of age thus limiting the costs of social security and medicare.
