I have been telling friends for a couple of weeks now that if Medina can raise $2 million by February 16 (the start of early voting), she will be governor. What this poll tells me is that Texans are sick and tired of Rick Perry and Kay Bailey Hutchison and their career politician credentials and their negative campaigns. Medina is Sarah Palin with gravitas and without the winks.

Look, I've stated my reasons as to why I'm not comfortable with Medina and I'm not going to vote for her.
Why can't you just accept that not everyone is going to agree with you instead of making insulting, unfounded assumptions as to that person's overall ideology?
Personally, I think we conservatives could be a lot more productive if there were a little more civility and a little less condescension amongst ourselves.
But I've discovered that particularly with the Ron Paul faction, civility is against the rules. I can do without the "my way or the highway" approach. It's counterproductive.

Look, my objection is not so much to people preferring Perry; the objection is to the “pay your dues” and “experience” mentality. Making the right public policy decisions does not depend on “experience” in the same way that running a business does, for example.
Values, integrity, and courage are far more important for governing. Unfortunately, with a few exceptions, being an “experienced” politician today almost assures that the candidate in fact lacks principles, integrity, and courage.
We are facing a massive budget shortfall for the next biennium, courtesy of the Perry administration. All that our experienced Republican politicians in Austin have done is keep us a couple of steps behind California. It is almost a given that the Republican go-along-to-get-along crowd when faced with a $17 to $20 billion budget gap will not cut that amount out of spending. Instead, they will probably mostly play accounting games and raise taxes (perhaps calling them “fees”).
I think Medina would force spending cuts, and the lying Republican weasels in Austin would probably be so terrified by the fact that she won that they and a few of the D’s would actually vote to reduce the budget. Saying “Hell No!” to accounting games, fees, and taxes does not require “experience”, it requires principles and courage. We are more likely to get the “Hell NO!” from Medina than White, Perry, or KBH. Of course, she could disappoint, too, but I think the odds are far better with her.
I had some libertarian friends in the early 90s and even dated a libertarian for a while back then. They were a whole lot different then from the moonbatty way they've become now and even those friends of mine have seen that and moved away from it.
I agree with some of their planks, such as much, much smaller government and a lot of their economic approaches, but some of their other stands on issues are too out-there for me.
I won't be so arrogant as to speak for Ronald Reagan on this point since he is no longer with us. But you do know that Ron Paul has been quite critical of President Reagan, correct?

Medina’s staunchest supporters are likely to be Tea Party/Palin folks.
More likely they are Paulbots. I don’t see the Tea Party connection to her but maybe so.

More bad polling news for Hutchison
Collin County was No. 5 in Republican turnout in the 2008 primaries, and it’s in the backyard of U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, who has lived in Dallas for the past three decades.
But a new survey of Collin County voters shows Hutchison in a dead heat with activist Debra Medina.
Political consultant Joe Counter did a countywide survey of 300 likely Republican primary voters on Monday on behalf of four local candidates. He threw a horse-race question in about the governor’s race. The result:
Gov. Rick Perry 43.3 percent
Hutchison, 22 percent
Medina, 22.7 percent
Undecided 11 percent
Refused to answer 1 percent

So I’m sure she is blowing a lot of hot air just like Obama did just to get elected. Running those ads and saying what she has, tells me the border issue is just a try to get votes for herself.
Medina is about as qualified to be Governor as zero was to be President- want to re-visit how that is working out? She's a Libertarian running on the Republican ticket. She is supported by the Ron Paul worship crowd and she herself has acted in the Ron Paul worship capacity. She has demonstrated a lack of knowledge about Texas law and current ballot initiatives.
No, thanks, I’ll stick with ‘ol RINO Perry. Texas has remained in better shape than almost any if not all of the states in the union under Perry's watch. As someone said, 'he's the devil we know'.

I've noticed that as well. Some of them are FR's Ron Paul contingent.
When I see some of their Medina-worshiping posts and check to see what state they're from, I am grateful that they will not have a vote in our upcoming primary. :-D
