Sorry to be a wet blanket, but someone has to do it.
The Miss Me Yet? billboard (inspired by Jonathan Maneys t-shirts) is cute. But lets not get carried away with nostalgia.
President Bush put America on the proper war footing after 9/11 and deserves much credit for doing so, but he also:
1) joined with open-borders progressives McCain and Kennedy to try to force shamnesty down our throats;
2) massively expanded the federal role in education;
3) championed the Medicare prescription drug entitlement using phony math;
4) kowtowed to the jihadi-enabling Saudis;
5) stocked DHS with incompetents and cronies;
6) pushed Hillarycare for housing;
7) enabled turncoat Arlen Specter;
8. nominated crony Harriet Myers to the Supreme Court;
9) pre-socialized the economy for Obama by embracing TARP, the auto bailouts, the AIG bailout, and in his own words:
Ive abandoned free-market principles to save the free-market system. George W. Bush
No, I dont miss having a corporate socialist Republican in the White House any more than I like having a corporate socialist Democrat in the White House now.
That lying stuff kind of gets in the way of a budding friendship. You know what I mean?
(Maybe you should try a new approach, eh?)
GL has class. And I like her posts. But we disagree on many things. I even think she likes Bush, Yikes! (correct me if I am mistaken GL)
Try that on others.
I've observed you many times when I haven't even been on threads, and you throw pejorative names at people like there's no tomorrow, based on absolutely nothing other than their difference of opinion with you (recently about solid conservatives like Sarah Palin).
I'm glad GOP_Lady is nice to you, but a whole lot of others would be nice too, if you didn't slam them to the wall with every post.
Yes, I like GWB. He is a conservative, though not as conservative as a lot of people would like.
I think that too many people complain about the money that Congress and he spent, but remember, he gave us tax cuts, and we were and still are fighting terrorism. The problem is he and Congress should have cut spending a more. And, as far as the prescription drug program, Karl Rove has indicated that it is running under budget.
I would still like someone to cut out all unnecessary government though.
I am not disappointed in GWB. I miss him and beautiful Lady Laura.
Do you really think that calling people names as a first response is going to help the conservative cause? I'll assume for the sake of the argument that you are actually a conservative (the jury is out on that - you cite too many liberal sources).
If there are strong conservatives, let's say, who like Sarah Palin more than you do, what can possibly be gained by immediately calling them "Palin-bots?" What is your point?
Why, when someone disagrees with you, do you call them a "Hannity-bot" or a "Levin-bot," or a whatever-bot? What's your point in doing that repeatedly?
Do you think that's how we're going to win the war against Marxists? Do you think lying about fellow conservatives is going to help the conservative cause?
I'm really curious as to why you do what you do, again, presuming for the sake of the argument, that you actually are a conservative.
If you can explain yourself, perhaps I can understand why you act the way you do.
I would give my eye teeth to have beautiful Laura as our First Lady again!
I can’t stand Michelle Malkin. I always turn the channel if I see her face.
Love and Miss President Bush.
I don't use that term.
First of all, it doesn't set a good first tone (or whatever you want to call it).
You, LauraBot (and I don't blame you for that)! ;-)
The thing that strikes me is that she is actually angry that people put up the sign expressing how much they miss President Bush (and the majority now do), and she couldn't handle it. She blew up apparently because she doesn't want people to miss this wonderful man.
There is a seething quality in this article, and it's both inexplicable and sad, IMO.
What a fine woman Laura Bush is!
The implication is that, if you don't agree with him on every thing about Sarah Palin, and you defend her here on a thread, he accuses you of being a mindless follower...... a bot.
It's a belittling accusation, and for sickoflibs, it includes nearly everyone who doesn't agree with every single thing he thinks.
The problem with what he's doing here, on a conservative forum with very solid conservative people (whom he doesn't know from Adam), is that people understandably assume that he's a troll. He hates Hannity? He hates Levin? He hates Palin? He hates Bush? And he belittles anyone else who doesn't?
How can anyone tell he's not from DU? You can't because he acts just like them.
(The people who cheer him on are the subject of a different conversation.....)
They make a perfect couple.
What is your idea of the “perfect” candidate for you?
What are your expectations?
No, it wasn’t a pardon. They were penniless and stuck with large federal fines. GWB did to the agents what Rick Perry did to former Supreme Court Justice Steve Smith. Shameful
But Laura said that now every night is a "date night," so I'm very happy for them both. They deserved to be away from the mindless, cruel attacks on him, which I'm sure were harder on her than on him.
And calling him a monkey, like some people call other Freepers around here.
It broke my heart. Such hate.
And I'll be the first person to speak up and/or scream, but only when it's really, really necessary.
I think she's gone a lot overboard, but she got the attention she wanted, I guess....
