Things I don’t miss about George W. Bush (Michelle Malkin)

Sorry to be a wet blanket, but someone has to do it.

The “Miss Me Yet?” billboard (inspired by Jonathan Maney’s t-shirts) is cute. But let’s not get carried away with nostalgia.

President Bush put America on the proper war footing after 9/11 and deserves much credit for doing so, but he also:

1) joined with open-borders progressives McCain and Kennedy to try to force shamnesty down our throats;

2) massively expanded the federal role in education;

3) championed the Medicare prescription drug entitlement using phony math;

4) kowtowed to the jihadi-enabling Saudis;

5) stocked DHS with incompetents and cronies;

6) pushed Hillarycare for housing;

7) enabled turncoat Arlen Specter;

8. nominated crony Harriet Myers to the Supreme Court;

9) pre-socialized the economy for Obama by embracing TARP, the auto bailouts, the AIG bailout, and in his own words:

“I’ve abandoned free-market principles to save the free-market system.” – George W. Bush

No, I don’t miss having a corporate socialist Republican in the White House any more than I like having a corporate socialist Democrat in the White House now.

“Bush made mistakes certainly. You claimed he was evil. That makes you an idiot.”

No, I was pointing that doing some good does not excuse great evil. It’s called an aphorism and you are an idiot.

Bush wasn’t “evil”. Just a liberal.

“His killing of Kyoto saved Americans hundreds and hundreds of billions of dollars.”

The Senate was never going to ratify it.

“His tax cuts spurred economic growth and put money in your pocket.”

His spending policies took money from my grandchildren’s pocket.

“His security policies saved innocent American lives.”

He couldn’t even enforce the same visa laws the hijackers violated... Real “security policies”... roughing up Grandmothers and stonewalling arming pilots.

“His anti abortion stance saved countless more.”

Prove it. The legality of abortion didn’t change.

“But let me ask you this. Did you ever support Bush and if so when did you abandon him?”

Yes. I abandoned him when abundantely clear he was a flaming lib - sometime in 2004, I think, is when I finally couldn’t come up with rationalizations for the man’s agenda.

Did I say she was a liberal?

But since you mention it, she did rather loudly defend FDR’s unconstitutional internment of Japanese Americans during WWII. Not saying that makes her a liberal, but it’s certainly not a conservative stance.

“Good, so you supported Bush killing them throughout his term?”

Bush supported the KLA just like Clinton, funded Al Fatah, pushed to get Hamas in the “democratic process” and kissed up to the Saudis. Either he was a fool, a dupe, or willfully blind to the threat Islam represents.

Then you are a major part of the problem because in 2004 Bush had the deficits under control and on the way to balance. because people like you ceased supporting Bush he lost leverage and had to spend all his political capital on funding the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Were you against the surge in Iraq as well?

Bush supported the KLA just like Clinton,

KLA was disbanded years before Bush ever took office thus this assertion is false on it's face.

funded Al Fatah,

Nonsense, Bush soought Arafats removal from the gitgo.

pushed to get Hamas in the “democratic process” and kissed up to the Saudis

The Saudis were instrumental in our war in the Middle East and Bush never supported Hamas, In fact he withehld funds from them previously assigned.

Either he was a fool, a dupe, or willfully blind to the threat Islam represents.

Based on the BS in your previous post? I don't think so pal. Bush was the best supporter in the Oval Office that Israel has ever had, your dissembling ain't changing that.

"In response to the death of at least 17 Palestinians during the Israeli army's operation in Gaza on Tuesday, Hamas said in a statement that "the massacre conducted by the IDF is a direct result of the go-ahead and backing given by (US President George W. Bush) to the Zionists' continued attacks in the Strip." Yup big supporter.

Just who do you think runs Kosovo? That’s like saying the KGB is no more just because they changed the name....

“Nonsense, Bush soought Arafats removal from the gitgo.”

“The Saudis were instrumental in our war in the Middle East and Bush never supported Hamas, In fact he withehld funds from them previously assigned. “

The Saudis are the principal funders of Jihad. Even the wife of “Bandar Bush” was a terroristm donor. The Bush Administration pressured Israel to admit Hamas to the PA elections.

“Based on the BS in your previous post? I don’t think so pal. Bush was the best supporter in the Oval Office that Israel has ever had, your dissembling ain’t changing that.”

If so, we have never been a friend of Israel. Not unless sucking up to their enemies and pressuring to give up more and more land is somehow “support”.

The internment of the Japanese-Americans was after the attack on Pearl Harbor devastating our Fleet--Jap planes were trying to attack the West Coast, German U-boats prowling the waters on the East Coast, saboteurs coming over the border from Canada, and assorted pro-Nazi Americans all thru America. Franklin D Roosevelt declared Martial Law and that meant all Japanese-americans in the US were interned for the duration. In that crippled condition with 2 enemies out to destroy and conquer us, we could take no chances. No, it wasn[t nice. There are a whole lot of things that ain't "nice" in a war!

Just maybe if George Bush had any understanding of "an enemy within", plus the moxie he was sorely lacking, he might well have declared ML after 9/11 ----plus a few other moves, other than a PC war to change hearts & minds, pfftt!

When are conservatives going to quit buying into the imbecile liberal bullsh!t!!

Seems like Malkin is turning into a more conservative Peggy Noonan (I’m better then you so there!) type you got that right ME. I wish people like Michelle would leave the conservative movement I remember when Kid Rock wanted to perform at George Bush’s inauguration and she raised heck about it. People like her can leave the conservative movement since she adds nothing to it anyway.

“Then you are a major part of the problem because in 2004 Bush had the deficits under control and on the way to balance. because people like you ceased supporting Bush he lost leverage and had to spend all his political capital on funding the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. “

He’d already pushed through liberal government expansions and had started his amnesty push. AMNESTY was what he said he’d spend his political capital on after his reelction. That told me where American citizens stood with him.

“Were you against the surge in Iraq as well?”

The “surge” wasn’t some grand strategy. It was a belated realization that people like Shinseki were actually right.

You have this whole President/citizen thing exactly backwards.

You have a problem with the truth amigo. You drip lies and bs like a leaky faucet or anus.

Israelis supported Bush by margins of 70-30 even when you and a large majority of Americans abandoned him while he was conducting the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and on jihadists where and when he found them.

And yet when he was abandoned by his COngress, the American people and folks like you he soldiered on and sent more troops to Iraq.

Bet you effing hated that didn't you?

"Shinseki’s claim was based on a “straight-line extrapolation from very different environments” — an analysis by the Army’s Center for Military History that based its figure of 470,000 troops for Iraq on the service’s experience in Bosnia and Kosovo. But as Tom Ricks pointed out in an article for the Washington Post, this effort was criticized as naïve, unrealistic, and “like a war college exercise” rather than serious planning.

The best that can be claimed on Shinseki’s behalf is that he was right for the wrong reasons. His claim that more troops would be needed in Iraq was based on his incorrect assumption that humanitarian operations rather than counterinsurgency would be the main driver of U.S. force requirements."

Here's part of the memo, courtesy of Mackubin Owens, that you missed Lefty.

GWB and Rick Santorum campaigned for Arlen against a conservative Republican candidate in the primary. And that’s one of those things I’ll never forget.

"Are you a Christian Kosovo zealot?

There is quite a big difference between expecting that a place that was named for nearly a thousand years as Kosovo "Metohija" -- translated "Land of the Monasteries" -- remain a "Land of the Monasteries" -- instead of being turned into a "Land of the Mosques" and established as a new home for al Qaeda courtesy of the USA & NATO, verses believing that George W. Bush was "appointed by God" to "begin bringing this great country out of its moral decline".

God doesn't Make mistakes. But if GWB was really "His Choice", then GWB heartily failed in that mission!

And this is from someone who voted for GWB not once, but twice -- in the fervent prayer that the man would redeem himself -- but he didn't! And I am not above admitting in all humility that this was the case, in spite of having voted for him.

And by the way, all of this happened on George Bush's watch Are you proud of this? Because I am NOT!

You still don't get it -- all of us have been sold down the river. Think that you are better because somehow you are "a better Christian" than the Christians of Kosovo are? Yeah, good luck with that! Your arrogance is what they are are banking on -- and I mean that literally.
