Felony snowball throwing charges have been leveled against two Virginia college students for allegedly pelting a city plow and an undercover police car during Saturday's blizzard. Charles Gill and Ryan Knight, both 21, were nabbed by cops in Harrisonburg, where they attend James Madison University. According to police, the pair first targeted a city plow last Saturday afternoon. The driver responded by calling cops to report the frosty fusillade. When police responded to the scene in a bid to identify the assailants, their unmarked vehicle also came under an icy assault. Gill and Knight, a guard on JMU's basketball team, were then apprehended and booked into jail for throwing missiles at occupied vehicles, a felony.

Yep and just like me when I was a kid, they had a well planned escape route and I never caught them......LOL!
One of the funniest things I ever saw was when I was about 11. After a big snow we were throwing snowballs at cars. The first guy got out and returned fire. Good enough.
We pelted the next car, but my bud, Mark threw a sky ball - as high as he could. The guy jumped out of his car and he was PISSED. He yelled and raved. The six of us stood there, hands at our sides while he went on and on.
Then the sky ball hit - bulls eye in the middle of his windshield!
I hate to take the opposite side here...but the two snowball throwers are way to dumb to be in college. Any seven year old knows that if you have been heaving snowballs at moving vehicles, you high tail it out of there when you see the cop car...
How would you feel if some kids were throwing tennis balls at your car and you didn’t know they were coming?
“Snowballs are now missles...”
Missiles are just rockets with guidance systems on them. These must be rc snowballs!
I agree with you. I’m disgusted that people around here think it’s okay to throw things at autos. I’ve had it happen to me and it can startle you. What if the guy had run off the road. I have a feeling people would feel differently if it was them that had the snowballs thrown at them.
Know wonder we have kids behaving the way they do. Their parents think it’s cute. We then get to here all the stories about the “bad” things they did when they were kids.
Sounds like what my college dorm mate used to do with his friends in high skrool. They’d go biscuiting! What is biscuiting? You go to the store and get those el cheapo ready to bake things of biscuits, stand on the side of the road and throw them at cars. One night he and his buddies were biscuiting and along came a cop car, which they didn’t know until the biscuits had left their hand, and, well...
Or you throw them from your car at other cars or people.
Armor piercing snowballs. Go right through an engine block.
Had some help from his kids, as I recall..............
Yeah, but the British didn’t know that.
Surprised they werent labeled terrorists
Only if the snow ball was in his crotch.
Gosh, I didn’t know that. hehe
I was out running one night when I heard a woman screaming as if she was being attacked. It was on the next street over. I wasn’t sure exactly where she was and what was the quickest way over. I headed off to a nearby crossroad, but I heard sirens almost immediately. When I arrived, the police were already there.
Someone (high school kids?) was driving west at least 35 mph (probably more) and the woman was driving east at least 35. They threw an egg at her car. It missed. Her driver’s side window was open. It hit her in the face and left her eye full of shell fragments. They were rinsing it out when I left. I hope it turned out well for her.
Since even a little kid can throw at 40 mph, the closing speed of that egg was at least 110 mph, probably more. I wonder if those kids had any idea what they did?
Yeah, I don’t like people throwing things at cars, even if the things are ‘harmless.’
Britain, American lunacy is doing its best to catch up.
YESSSSSS!
*cheer*
That's one of my family's favorite epithets.
Part of that is today's cars.
I remember when you could hit a car with a baseball bat, and all it did was bounce off, leaving no dent.
Or when you could push another car to help get it started, without totally destroying the front end of your car.
Ahhh... the 'good old days'.
Asking questions is idiocy? I didn't say they were the same. No need to get nasty about it. I'm just trying to judge what range of objects you would mind being hit with. Having thrown both snowballs and tennis balls and having been hit by thrown ones, they can be very similar. Just because it's snow doesn't mean it's harmless.
“Yeah, but the British didnt know that.:
Heh. I thought you might have been referring to the Boston Massacre - it started off as a snowball fight.
” I have a feeling people would feel differently if it was them that had the snowballs thrown at them.”
So you agree that these two young men should be charged with a FELONY?
