Murtha won re-election with 58% of the vote in 2008. But John McCain narrowly carried the district

The district went for Kerry in ‘04 and then went for McCain in ‘10. it was the only one to flip like that. It has a cook pvi of +1 Republican so it leans and is trending our way.

I was feeling guilty so I wanted to add, I wanted him to get beaten in an election, not to die.

"Dang. Would he have lived longer if he had ObamaCare???"
Nope - Congress exempted itself.

Agreed. I wanted to see them and their dimwit ideas get tossed to the curb at the ballot box. This is a bit empty.

The GOP candidate needs to run promising to vote AGAINST Obamacare..that will make it an interestung referendum.. The week after Scott Brown won in Massachusetts, I got a robo-call by one Tony Amador, announcing his candidacy for the California 11th district against Jerry McNerney.
Amador's call said that he was campaigning on using taxpayer dollars to fight terrorists, not to give them lawyers.
It would be an interesting experiment to see if that sentiment resonates in western Pennsylvania, too.

“
Pennsylvania will likely hold a special election to fill the rest of Murthas term. The state primaries will be May 19” Do we have a good candidate for that seat?
The Republican candidate(whoever he is), should run against ObamaCare like Scott Brown did.
To: ken5050
The probable GOP candidate is William T. Russell (http://russellbrigade.com). He came close to beating Murtha last time. He is former military and is reliable on gun rights, border security, taxes, pro-life, and national security.
To: Slyscribe
...the man called the people of his own district a bunch of redneck racists.
And he won re-election. And it wasn’t even close!
Can’t wait to see who the dumb$h!t$ of Pa send up there to take Murtha’s place....
