China's debt bomb: America's No. 1 creditor holds the ultimate weapon
NY Post ^ | February 8, 2010 | ARTHUR HERMAN

'He who pays the piper calls the tune": That old saying captures perfectly America's growing dependence on our No. 1 creditor in the world, Communist China.

By their carelessness Congress and the Obama administration are steadily handing over control of America's economic and financial future to a handful of Chinese officials and generals in Beijing. Those who think the Chinese won't use that control if they feel they have to are ignoring history -- and the Chinese.

The ancient military strategist Sun Tzu said that the best strategy was to render an opponent's army helpless even before the battle began. America may still have the biggest and best military in the world.

But many at the Pentagon are starting to realize that, thanks to our growing fiscal irresponsibility, we may be surrendering control of America's destiny to a rival superpower -- and all without a shot being fired.

This is a must read. That China has outlined a “war” by computer hacking combined with crippling the US financially is frightening. That we have simulated a war-game of this scenario and we lost, is even moreso.

And yet Congress holds a vote every days it seems to increase the debt ceiling. If I didn’t know better, I’d swear they were moles for China. Maybe they have been promised roles in the New Chinese Government of America.

“Congress and the Obama administration are steadily handing over control of America’s economic and financial future to a handful of Chinese officials and generals in Beijing.”

These Commies stick together, don’t they? And plan together. Obie killed the F-22 and F-34 and gave center stage to the new Sukhoi. (Sp.?)

“If you owe the bank 10,000 it owns you,
if you owe the bank 10,000,000 you own the bank”

IF we could stop our ridiculous deficit spending,
the Chinese leverage against us would be zero. They
can’t foreclose on the United States. They would be left
with a couple of trillion in toilet paper.

Owe the bank a million $’s and you have a problem. Owe the bank $900 Billon and the bank/PRC has a problem.

This is a mexican standoff without a happy ending for either side.

But, why should we worry about China selling $900 billion of bonds, when our very own government wants to sell in excess of $2 trillion within the next year?

They would be left with a couple of trillion in toilet paper.

And the value of my yet to be collected pension would also equal toilet paper, with some luck.

At this time the Red Chinese are the last best hope against massive inflation.

If I owe the bank $1 million the bank ownes me, if I owe the bank $1 billion I own the bank. I have the power to close the bank.

Ultimate Weapon?   Nope... Last time I visited the American Heartland, I didn't see any Chinese farmers - just Americans, whose compassion has limitations...

Well, we are in decline. You can not remain a wold power by exporting all of your industry. Great Britain tried that, and failed in a rather spectacular fashion.
