Rantings of a Nazi Monster
New York Post ^ | 2/7/10 | SUSANNAH CAHALAN

Posted on 02/07/2010 3:30:38 PM PST by nickcarraway

He stared at the deliberate German script in the tattered notebook -- the ravings of one of the most evil minds in history, and the killer of 100 of his family members.

"I don't want to touch it," he said.

The Orthodox Jewish New Yorker first laid eyes on the diary of Dr. Josef Mengele on Thursday at a Connecticut auction house.

He bought the 86-page journal last week from the auctioneer after the document failed to attract a bidder at the $60,000 reserve price. The buyer has requested anonymity but agreed to speak to The Post about his reasons for acquiring the Nazi madman's innermost musings.

The buyer's grandmother, who survived Auschwitz, witnessed the "Angel of Death" choose prisoners to go to the gas chambers.

"People were terrified to even look at him," she told her grandson. "The SS soldiers were even scared to look at him."

Mengele, an SS officer and physician at the death camp in Poland, conducted nightmarish human experiments, including amputations, sterilization and surgeries without anesthetics. He was obsessed with twins and oversaw gruesome tests on 3,000 sets.

Mengele started the diary -- handwritten in blue ink in a school notebook bearing the image of children with a horse on the cover -- in 1960 while hiding out in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

It does not mention Nazis, Hitler or the death camps. But it is filled with subjects near and dear to the mad doctor's cold heart -- eugenics, the superiority of the German race, the inferiority of women.

Mengele meanders from a discussion of aesthetics in "Dr. Zhivago" to a rant on how the mentally challenged should be sterilized so their "inferior genes" would not be passed on.

His primary point is: "the simple and fundamental truth that human beings are not equal."

True enough. Certain human beings such as Mengele are unutterably evil. If we're going to clean out the human gene pool, why not start with them?

Disgraceful and dumb remark. Orthodox Jews tend to not vote Democratic. You might want to find out why.

Somewhat related, the Hasidic community of New Square voted overwhelmingly for Mrs. Clinton (followed shortly thereafter by a presidential pardon for four residents of New Square.)

is there a difference between synagogues?

Absolutely. There are Reform synagogues for "Reform Jews"; Conservative synagogues for "Conservative Jews"; and Orthodox synagogues for strictly observant Jews. Services - with the possible exception of High Holidays during which there might be some attempt at uniformity -- are different in each. They don't visit one another's synagogues; they have different rabbis; they think differently from one another; and they tend not to be that friendly with one another. Many Jews, especially in a cosmopolitan center like New York City, are even less observant than "Reform Jews", preferring to call themselves "secular Jews" or perhaps "cultural Jews" or sometimes -- in an attempt to split hairs -- they will assert that they do not practice Judaism, don't believe in God, observe no Jewish holidays, but they were born to Jewish parents, so in a purely nominal sense, they are forced into admitting that they are Jews(!) It's a very odd -- and often a very disconcerting -- cultural fissure within Judaism, especially as it developed in the U.S.

Too bad we cannot isolate the evil and eliminate it in the manner that they tried to eliminate all innocent human beings 'that didn't measure up'.

Personally, I would not have that wicked material in my home...perhaps he will donate it. I couldn't finish Mein Kempf recently simply because it was also the 'rantings' of a madman and felt the evil......so I got rid of it.

"People were terrified to even look at him," she told her grandson. "The SS soldiers were even scared to look at him."

And yet, from the article:

BOOK OF EVIL: Dr. Josef Mengele (second from left, with SS officials at Auschwitz in '44) wrote his diary while hiding in Argentina.

How did these monsters go to sleep at night, fully knowing the atrocities that they committed.

Ok, so you made an ill-informed comment. As you can see, one slip and you get labeled a dumb, disgraceful, disgusting, dishonest anti-semite. To assume your comment shows you are a Jew-hater is dumb, disgraceful, disgusting and dishonest. Thankfully, not all of us are so thin-skinned.
Hang in there.

Yes, but only if they have their parents and well-wishers fighting for them.

Because of a lack of their parents and other adults fighting for their rights, Muslim girls are under tremendous oppression.

“Rights” mean nothing, unless there is potent physical force to preserve it.

Yes, but only if they have their parents and well-wishers fighting for them.

Bull. God gave them their right to life; just because it isn't being protected doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Because of a lack of their parents and other adults fighting for their rights, Muslim girls are under tremendous oppression.

Yes. Their God-given rights are being violated. But those rights still exist.

“Rights” mean nothing, unless there is potent physical force to preserve it.

Those rights are the reason action must be taken to protect them, but they exist whether they are protected or not.

Rights don’t mean anything, unless there is an active will to protect, and give meaning to.

Rights cannot exist in a vacuum, full-stop.

If it could, then there is no meaning in fighting a just war for the same.

You are likely wrong. A large portion of the Orthodox Jews understand that the Democratic Party of today is notning like their grandfather’s Democratic Party.

Until the mid-19th century when the Reform got started in Germany and the U.S., there was pretty much just Orthodoxy from ancient times on. Most practiced it, some to a greater or lesser degree. The “innovation” that was the Reform Movement is one that was so fixated on assilimilating into German society that some of the leaders were not satisfied just to observe less, but instaed decided to recreate their millenia old religion in their own self-conscious image, basically throwing out most of the litergy and law and even beliefs, in short throwing out the baby with the bathwater. The scions of Reform now includes the later “innovation” Conservative; these are the Obama supporters, brainwashed by the clergy who have been taught in the past 40 years by Marxists who have made their way onto these faculties - no different from what has happened to our universities.

"Possible, but statistically unlikely. Orthodox Jewish support for Republicans is generally about 80 percent."

I won't disagree with that statement about Orthodox Jews, but overall, American Jewish turnout for the one was in the mid 80% range, according to Jerusalem Post.

Interesting that the eugenics movement was widely embraced by the forefathers of today’s liberals during the American Progressive era...indeed their ideas were praised by the Nazi leadership and incorporated into their policies. Kinda sucks to be a democrat with that heritage.

Karl Brandt, the head of Hitler’s euthanasia program introduced one of Madison Grant’s books as evidence at Nuremberg. Didn’t work. Brandt was hanged.

Among other things, Grant was a co-founder of the Save the Redwoods League and helped found the Bronx Zoo.

Rights don’t mean anything, unless there is an active will to protect, and give meaning to.

What is the source of our rights?

Rights cannot exist in a vacuum, full-stop.

Who said anything about a vacuum?

If it could, then there is no meaning in fighting a just war for the same.

Just wars are not fought to grant rights; they are fought to protect the exercise thereof.
