Tennessee state Senate speaker and gubernatorial candidate Ron Ramsey has joined the growing ranks of officials and prominent commentators who say they are unsure of whether President Barack Obama is a U.S. citizen.
Ramsey was asked Feb. 2 about the issue by Maclin Davis, a former state lawmaker and attorney for the state GOP, the Associated Press reported.
"I don't know whether President Obama is a citizen of the United States or not," Ramsey responded. "I don't know what the whole deal is there."
However, Ramsey added that he doesn't believe citizens are concerned about Obama's citizenship status.
"But I'm going to tell you something," he said. "When you walk out on the street down here, people don't really care about this issue."

I know he's the non-voting representative to the House from Samoa. Other than that what about him?
Assuming such an adoption ever took place.
By being born in Hawaii.
He is Obamas emmisary to Indonesia regarding his Indonesian status. Also I have seen Obamas school registration fro Indonesia. It clearly states he is an Indonesian citizen and a Muslim.
According to the law, it doesn't appear so. And that's assuming Obama held an Indonesian passport in the first place much less renewed it.
>> Why would they have “the goods” on Obama and not the Birther community? Are they smarter than you?
Lame.
How is smartness the primary factor to possessing something?
Again, the law was clearly intended to apply to foreign-born folks not American born....but heh if you want to keep pushing this silly issue (which only discredits conservatives as cranks), knock yourself out.
Wrong. As usual, the Barry apologists just fabricate a perspective. American law is written to govern Americans and to determine whom falls into the jurisdiction of American law. But that is not only a good try to deceive readers but quite revealing of your loyalties. Liars work to protect liars. You’re not doing so well yet. Keep working at it.
It won't take much pushing.
Look at the polls and the number of people who either do not believe that Obama was born in the U.S. and/or have serious questions about his citizenship and natural born status.
There is NO POSSIBLE WAY that the Dems can ignore this great big, rotting carcass of road kill sitting smack in the middle of the road to the 2010 elections. Personally, that is why I believe that Obama, himself, brought the subject up during the Prayer Meeting yesterday. This is why the Dem leadership released the memo the other day.
If they can't drive around that great big stinking carcass of eligibility blocking the road to the elections, then maybe they can make it go away by laughing at it and calling it silly. The polls have shown that they they can't close their eyes and ignore it any longer.
I have always believed that the American people are smart. ( See my tag line.) That the polls show that so many people have questions about Obama’s eligibility proves it. The American people **know** about the issue even with a near total blackout on the news on this topic. They have learned about it through the Internet and by person to person contact.
First they ignore, then they laugh, then they fight, then we win.
Ok... Easy to prove. So?...Why is he tying up the federal courts and using DOJ attorneys to prevent proving it?
Well, people didn't care about the issue of McCain's natural born citizen status either, and yet 100 Senators, all on their own, without walking out on the street, including the illegal One himself, addressed the facts of his birth with a Senate resolution. I guess then that that SR511 makes all those Senators "birthers" -- "partial birthers", that is.
Nonsense. This claim is directly contradicted by US law. See Immigration Nationality Act Sec. 349. [8 U.S.C. 1481]
Furthermore, I don't believe I've ever seen any evidence that Ann Dunham gave up her US citizenship when she married Soetoro. Just marrying a foreigner doesn't do it.
To paraphrase Winston Churchill, never in the field of human conspiracy theory have so many worked so hard and talked so much, yet produced so little as the Birther community. If others have found what you all have labored so hard and so unsuccessfully to uncover then it doesn't say much about your abilities, does it?
In the first place, he isn't tying up the federal courts. Orly and Donofrio and friends are. And I doubt he's tying up much in the way of U.S. attorney's either. To date I don't know of more that half a dozen or so appearances that they have had to make.
And also says he was born in Hawaii. So I guess that clears that up doesn't it?
That's why I love surfing Birther threads. There is something new and even more crazy every day.
Can you point us all to something that shows where that was required?
Quick turn on the Kuhner radio shoe 970 wtnt in DC they have Phil Berg on. Yoy can listen on line I am right now!
