Kennedys shaken as GOP eyes R.I. too

The Kennedy political dynasty is shaking in the aftershock of U.S. Sen. Scott Brown’s earth-shattering election, with a new poll showing U.S. Rep. Patrick Kennedy losing ground as he faces a well-financed GOP foe backed by Brown’s top strategists.

The WPRI-12 poll showed the Rhode Island Democrat with a 56 percent unfavorability rating in his district - a negative that grows to 62 percent statewide.

Only 35 percent of voters in Kennedy’s district said they would vote to re-elect him. Another 31 percent said they’d consider a different candidate and 28 percent said they would vote to replace him, according to the poll.

Republican John J. Loughlin II, a veteran state lawmaker, formally announced his campaign yesterday against Kennedy, saying the son of liberal icon Edward M. Kennedy is out of touch with Rhode Island voters as he seeks a ninth two-year term

Rhode Island: the little step child of MA who has attempted to bask in the "glory" of the Kennedy dynasty. I remember what it was like growing up there back in the '60's post-Kennedy assassination(s). everywhere you turned -- you couldn;t get away from them.

School bullitin boards with pix of the brothers everywhere, the little shrines. The endless Lincoln-Kennedy comparisons. Plastic pencil boxes with Kennedy kitsch all over them. Providence Journal propaganda.

And the only relief from it was "The Impossible Dream" Red Sox winning the pennant in 1967... with a hat tip to Yaz, Ken Harrelson, and Tony Conigliaro.

Maybe Curt Schilling can be persuaded to challenge Kerry next time.

Another Chicago connection. And the beat goes on—and stronger—in this administration. Let’s wipe the floor with these thugs, one election at a time.

Because most Kennedys are low-class white trash...but with their money, they don’t suffer the consequences of their actions...Chappaquidick.

Wanna bet there’s a camera set up to catch someone trying to do what you just said? You’d be arrested before you’d make it out of Arlington.

Isn’t the Commission still sitting on records that are to be released sometime in the future? (I remember reading that I will be long gone before they are.) Anyone??

What is this fascination with Brown by some people? Brown didn’t do anything, the voters did. Brown is NOT a true conservative, he is very conservative for Mass but is actually a RINO in lots of areas. He doesn’t need to be President or to have his face plastered on a half dollar(he would have to die first anyway). He is just a guy that came along at the right time to oust the dems from the people’s senate seat.

Imagine there’s no Kennedys
It’s easy if you try
No libs to tax us
or feed us all their lies
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there’s no Kennedys
It isn’t hard to do
No more pompous windbags
And no Camelot too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

The best of a bad bunch. It is amazing to look at the Kennedy klan and see how doless the whole bunch is. one would think that one or two of the bunch would have amounted to something. Of course, it reminds me that the aristocratic families of Europe form anything but a natural aristocracy. Which is why the whole idea of eugenics is so ludicrous.

You may be oonfused. The close election in Chicago was Kennedy versus Nixon. It was not a primary. Nixon actually won the 1960 election if things had been honest.

One needs to be deceased for 5 years before being put on currency. This law was broken.

This was not the first time. FDR appeared on the dime starting in 1946, the year after he died.

To give him his due, Teddy was a natural politician, better than either of his brothers. None of the next generation has demonstrated any such talent, the Shrivers being the best of the bunch.

Had either of them lived, JFK and RFK would have become everything Teddy became. Each became larger in death than either was ever in life.

Teddy is a big as he ever will be. With the exception of his involvement with Mary Jo Kopechne, the girl he killed, the memory of him and his "accomplishments" will only decline over time

The people of MA have been emancipated, and they are now starting to speak out.

Indeed, Joseph Kennedy was a no-good one, he wept when son, Robert, was killed because he knew that Teddy, the youngest, was no good!

I would share a bottle of my best Ladybank Single Malt with Teddy if Im ever by his grave...after passing it through my bladder of course.

I look forward to the day that the truth finally sees the light about these guys and the "eternal flame" in Arlington is finally extinguished and the current residents of that sacred plot thereof removed.

Patrick Kennedy is one of the best advertisements for Republicans. I can’t think of another congressman that is a better representative for Democrats. If we lose Patrick we lose a useful idiot.

The Kennedys are rotting because they did so many things wrong. God says that their sins shall be visited on the children, down to the 4th generation. BRRRR!
