Bill Gates has made his scholarship fund off limits to white teenagers. The Gates Millennium Scholarship fund is financed by a $1 Billion endowment Bill Gates made in 1999. The fund explicitly denies eligibility to white students.
“Students are eligible to be considered for a GMS scholarship if they: Are African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian and Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic American;"

That’s exactly what I was thinking.
Poor whites are justified in “redistributing” his software now, IMHO.
If he wants to support a movement that is both pro “social justice” and anti-poor-white then let the file sharing begin.
You will see increasing evidence of poorer whites (especially males) being robbed of opportunity specifically because they are white. It’s already mounting up.
The robbing can go both ways.
Don’t fund this agenda.

Plus the ethnic scholarships you mention are mostly small and supplemental. I’ll bet the Bill Gates scholarships are extremely generous and/or a full free ride

You may be confusing scholarships and grants. Most scholarships and nearly all grants today are need rather than merit based. You don’t specify if your daughter or your neighbor received scholarships v. grants, merit v. need, from whom, what the families’ income disparities might be, how many children in each of the families, etc. THAT is more often than not how those matters are worked out today.
My daughter went to a $40K/year private school that ended up costing us the same or less than her classmates who went to the state schools. Private schools are extremely well endowed. She decided what school she would go to and went for their most generous merit scholarship, which was basically a free ride. So one could say she was awarded $160K in scholarships compared to a friend who got the state university’s most generous award of $4k/year or $16K in scholarships. But that is comparing apples to oranges.
She is now completing her Masters at another top university, and went only on the condition that the school would pick up the tab. She’s pure WASP, not one point for any disadvantage, but scores, grades, work ethic, etc. that the universities felt was worth their investment. Sometimes it is just that simple.

Obviously, Bill Gates is a self-loathing racist.
Sheesh, talk about a waste of money. Blacks get in with racial preferences, scholarships with racial preferences, etc., and then they drop out at a much, much higher rate than other ethnicities. This leaves a seat that could have been filled by someone who would have succeeded and the money wouldn’t have been wasted. This is yet another big reason why America is slipping.
I wonder if the establishment of this scholarship was a Jesse Jackson-type shakedown.
Gates should be ashamed of himself. Sure, it’s his money and he can do as he likes with it, but to establish a racist scholarship in his name is despicable and just makes race relations in this country worse. He’s got too big a name to be doing this without some blowback.

Bill Gates is also my enemy and and enemy of the American Ideal. He is a traitor to the very values that made him rich.

It is illegal to have a whites only scholarship but it is perfectly legal to specifically exclude whites from a scholarship? This nonsense needs to be challenged in court. This gets me mad beyond words
If Bill Gates wants to endow "whites only" scholarships how successful will he be? How legal is that?
