Cross Placed at Air Force Pagan Circle Deemed 'Destructive'
FoxNews via CDS ^ | 2/4/2010 | Joshua Rhett Miller

A large wooden cross was placed at an Air Force Academy worship area for pagans and other Earth-centered religions, prompting an investigation by academy officials, though some caution that it’s hardly “destructive behavior.”

Mikey Weinstein, founder of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, said an Air Force Academy staffer spotted the cross — erected with railroad ties — lying against a rock at a worship area for pagan groups at the academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Jan. 17.

It's unfortunate that you seemed not to have noticed the heart of my post.

If a symbol is ambiguous it is not working very well.

Visit an Indian Reservation. Ask an individual aged fifty or older about their experiences with "Christians." Many have had "Paplovian" conditioning against Christianity due to the cruel and wicked behavior of those who claim to be Christians.

We fail to understand that any symbol has the meaning an observer assigns it. God's enemy seizes upon this and uses against us. You are the only representation of a Cross or Bible that some will see.

Pull your head out of the sand and carry His Gospel to the those harmed by false teachers.

I agree on that part, thus is why I did not comment on it.

With the exception of the Karankawa, who as the headhunters of Borneo, CHOSE to have “baked/broiled” enemies over the Christianity “turn the other cheek” introduced to them.

Not on the subject exactly, but a mutual friend is a photographer. He took these pics in asia.

Once again, your soapbox is on the wrong corner. You are the one with the federal case problem, not I. No where did I call for a repeal of the 1st amendment. You’re looking more and more like the back end of the horse here.

Exactly, as it my post.

Would there be breaking and entering? (to place the cross on their stones mean the cross-holder had to have entered the pagan’s stone circle)

Would there be actual **threats**?

Face it, you find the mirror image example to be offensive. But have no problems with it when your religion is the one committing the act.

So much for the ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you’ bit. Jesus would be ashamed of you.

There’s plenty of stuff the Prophet Muhammad did (and documented in the Koran) that was supposedly done by the will of Allah.

Besides, so many in the Islamic world act as if Osama IS maistream.

Why is there such a huge effort to convince Christians, Jews and other non-Muslims that Islam is a peaceful, tolerant, kind, respectful religion, but there is no such direct effort to convey the same messages into the Mosques and the Arab Muslim world; especially to those Muslims in Gaza, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Tajikistan, the West Bank, etc.? In the same breath, why are Christian churches, Christian worship and Christian preaching banned in so many Islamic nations if Islam is so tolerant of all faiths?

Where are the Muslim world’s media television, talk-show hosts’, news people, Islamic experts’ and roaming Imams’ and clerics’ voices with the message that people should not listen to Osama bin Laden, Al-Qaeda, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, Hamas and other Muslims who use terrorism. Why aren’t they saying that the terrorist interpretations of the Koran and the Prophet’s teachings are all wrong?

If the Terrorists and the Islamic Fundamentalists have ‘hijacked’ Islam to further their own agenda and are not following the Koran; why haven’t the clerics and Imams issued a fatwa (religious decree) in full view of Muslims everywhere; as set forth in Islamic law and the Koran, for those who have decried the ‘true’ faith and edicts of Islam? Does anyone remember the author Salman Rushdie? They didn’t waste anytime putting a price on his head and all he did is write a book that broke Islamic Law.

Why hasn’t the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC); who represents nearly one-fifth of the world’s population, named Bin laden directly and condemned him and other terrorist organizations as apostates to the Muslim Religion? Better yet, if in truth Islam is a religion that prohibits the murder and killing of the innocent, why haven’t Muslims everywhere; including the OIC, condemned the bombing of Disco’s, Pizzeria’s, or the killing of civilians and of school children in Israel?

If Jihad, by definition does not include the concept of a violent ‘Holy War’, why do so many Islamic clerics and followers of the Muslim religion keep using it for justification of their killing of other people of other faiths or nations? Can millions of readers of the Koran have it that wrong?

Pardon my ignorance of the Koran, but if a Catholic Priest did a ‘such-and-such’ terrible deed, the Bishops, the Cardinals, and the Pope would all condemn the actions and excommunicate the offender. Why is there no such action against the terrorists who (according to all the Islamic clergy and American and Muslim experts who are ‘educating’ the American public to Islam) have violated the Koran?

Finally, can the Muslims have it both ways? Either the Koran is specific or it is not. Either the plethora of Islamic terrorists organizations are following the literal edicts of the Koran and the Sunan, or they are apostates that must be destroyed by other Muslims with even more vengeance - that which is extended to non-believers.

Which way is it?

I remember him, but that’s about it. We were in different Cadet groups... his squadron was in the “old” dorm, I was in the “new” dorm”.

Since we majored in different subjects we were probably never in the same classroom, although we might have battled each other “on the fields of friendly strife”.

You are not demonstrating an ability to read and understand what you read. As I’ve said twice now:

“However, I would not be calling for “hate crimes.” Was there destruction of property? Was there breaking and entering? Were there actual **threats**?”

“However, I would not be calling for “hate crimes.”

Would not. Get it? Would not.

Now, Look at the picture ( you’ll have to follow the CDS link): the circle of stones is outdoors, not enclosed and the crossed railroad ties are outside of the circle.

If there are actual crimes, destruction of property (none in the case of the Air Force Academy) *breaking*(none in the case of the Air Force Academy) and entering(none in the case of the Air Force Academy) and *threats*(none in the case of the Air Force Academy), those might be pursued.

nope, no hate here ya know.. just leaving a cross here and there... no hate crimes at all.... the symbol is in the eye of the beholder, not everyone look at things the way you do. to a ford driver, the chevy bow-tie means "earnhart" or "govergnment motors" to a chevy driver, the ford blue oval means "fix or repair daily" or "big ugly seats and fisher price looking interior"
