Palin spokesman on Limbaugh’s “retard” joke: “Crude and demeaning”

I asked Palin spokesperson Meghan Stapleton for comment on Rush’s rant, and she emailed me this:

“Governor Palin believes crude and demeaning name calling at the expense of others is disrespectful.”

It hardly has the passion of her response to Rahm, and there’s no call for him to step down. But given Rush’s stature among conservatives, it’s pretty interesting that she went this far, denouncing his on-air rant as “crude and demeaning name-calling.”

His “on-air rant” was just an extended goof at Emanuel’s expense for describing lefty activists as “retarded,” but having chosen to pick this fight, I guess Sarahcuda can’t make exceptions for humor. This is the second prominent conservative her team has had to chastise in two days: An advisor to Rick Perry, whom she’s supporting, was upbraided in similar terms yesterday for using the word “retarded” on a conference call (it’s now become a minor issue in the Texas Republican primary).

The thing about Perry is that Hutchison was brought in because some big wigs don’t like Perry. Like the Bushes. So its a slanging match between his cronies and her cronies. The alternatives are Medina—a novice- and White, a pol with his own set of cronies. No real choice. Like Medina’s style, and some of her ideas, but I am afraid she would get eaten alive.

I see Palin as being more of a problem than I would have thought. I dislike ZSA ZSA Huffington, but I think she is correct when she called Palin’s anger “selective outrage”. Enough political correctness, and I don't care who it comes from, a republican or democrat.

People have got to stop being offended by every friggin’ word that is spoken.

Sarah needs to cut the “I’m so offended” crap (and I’m definately as Sarah-head). We don’t need PC! Why on earth would even a disabled person simply hearing a word be harmed? Its vastly different than some butthead getting in a disabled person’s face with the intent to hurt them.

It is clearly obvious that Rush’s usage was significantly different context than the trash rahm routinely pouts.

Overall everyone needs to get back to what your Momma taught you that “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”.
