While speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast, President Obama mispronounced the word "Corpsman" as "corpse-man."

The Corpseman from Orion.
Just like when he read the other guy’s speech as if it was his own, without realizing it.
I had no idea I was at one time an Army corpse-man.
Carter, a trained nuKULAR engineer,
pronounced it “nyukular” as well.
No disparagement from the left, of course.
“Corpseman” is how its pronounced in the Negro dialect and, at times, in the southern white trash dialect. But it really doesn’t matter as long as the speaker is... well, “clean.”
That’s because you were good at your job. The Dear Leader is just highlighting the deterioration of our military under Bush.
When Jack Kennedy was running for President, reportedly he was talking to a crowd in Iowa and asked rhetorically, “What’s wrong with the American fah-mah today?” To which someone in the crowd responded, “He’s stahving.”
So is “vigah”, but I never once saw JFK called out on it. Or even Teddy, for that matter. That was Ted Kennedy at his most sober. At other times, his speech was literally incomprehensible.
Really? In what way?
I had an XO (later CO) in a helo squadron, who could never get that word right. At awards ceremonies, he would read the citation from a “Navy and Marine Corpse Achievement Medal.”
Maybe you’ve just outgrown us. It happens.....
The guy is a veritable Mulligan Stew of psychological pathologies. Even a shrink as bright at Charles Krauthammer has trouble finding enough words to adequately describe what’s going on in the guy’s head.
My take is that he is a rare form of idiot savant whose “gift” is an urge to engage in mindless and continual eloqution and public oratory. His egocentrism and narcissism — probably resulting from having been abandoned first by his father then his mother — found in ALL politicians has reached a far higher level in him than in others and requires him to be on and the center of attention at all times.
(Even MSNBC leftist talker Ed Shultz, fresh from a visit to the White House, reported that Obama has turned the place into a shrine to surprise OBAMA, with portraits of his first year and hopefully, his LAST full year in office EVERYWHERE! Can you say egomaniac?)
Couple that with the problem described by microbiologist P.B. Medawar that
( ) the spread of secondary and latterly tertiary education has created a large population of people, often with well-developed literary and scholarly tastes, who have been educated far beyond their capacity to undertake analytical thought
and you have a formula for the creature known as Obama.
He is as lacking in the ability to think critically as are the voters who put him in office and who now bear full responsibility for the possibly irreparable damage now being done to this country by Obama and his minions.
I would prefer a Commander In Chief, myself.
..so true
Nah, not that either. Sometimes, like others, I make comments which, in retrospect, I think might have been good to keep to myself.
I have always suspected “nucular” was a secret presidential joke that was passed on from one to the next.
WASHINGTON: “Ay! I am fairly out and you are fairly in! See which of us will be the happiest!”
ADAMS: “Ummmm....okay....”
WASHINGTON: “And don’t forget to pronounce it as ‘nuc-u-lar’. They all expect it from you...”
That’s a rather humorous exchange you’ve dramatized...
As a proud Irish-American I prefer the word ‘idjit’.
