Disappointed With Sarah, Again
Vanity | 2/4/09

Posted on 02/04/2010 9:35:43 AM PST by dangus

Sarah endorses INCREASING immigration with Glenn Beck:

PALIN: Let me address legal immigration and we need to continue to be so welcoming and inviting of those who are represented there by our Statue of Liberty. The immigrants, of course, built this country. And I think republicans, conservatives are at fault when we allow the other side to capture this immigration issue and try to turn this issue into something negative for republicans. I think we need to recognize that again, immigrants built this great country. There are rules to follow if you want to be a part of this great country. Let's make sure people are following the rules. But let's welcome this.

BECK: Do you agree with me make the door wider and make it easier to bring people in, you know, Bill Gates said, I have a hard time keeping people here because it's so complex. Make, just streamline it and make it easier for people to come in the right way.

PALIN: Every part of bureaucracy needs to be streamlined, absolutely. And people do need to come in the right way. They cannot take advantage of what this country has to offer. The opportunities, the help that is here, they need to do this legally

When Gov. Palin endorsed Sen. John McCain, I was forgiving, because they had been part of a team. But Palin has also endorsed Sen. Lindsey Graham, the man whose hatred for conservatives and grassroots is exceeded in the Republican Party only by Sen. Arlen Specter. Oh, wait...

I'm not saying Gov. Palin is evil, liberal, or statist. But I've been pleading with people to find out what she actually stands for before they stampede to someone based on their personality and/or presence. Maybe she can still be reached, but I'm developing severe concerns we may be on the threshold of lunging headlong to yet another candidate who doesn't represent the conservative viewpoint.

Again, I emphasize she's not necessarily bad, but we should find out exactly how she stands on:

I don’t think you can decide to follow someone based on how badly they are treated by the press.

And that's not what I said.

I think she’s terrific, but I think that about a great many women (and men) who are conservatives.

Read some of her Facebook statements posted on FR. As I said, where are those other great conservatives? Are they speaking up?

He won’t say. No courage of his convictions. He’d rather sit in the peanut gallery, throwing empty shells.

I like her because she is uncompromising on the values I care about. And I also have no problem with legal immigration. I do however, believe it needs to be done based on the needs of our country, not on the needs of the immigrants. Also that there needs to be some minimum standards set such as making sure they are educated, skilled, and with no criminal history. During a time of such high unemployment, I think ALL immigration should be put on hold until we can get the level of deficit spending down because I do believe that recent immigrants from third world countries are costing us more than benefiting us overall.

December 2009

Lars Larson radio talk show

LARS: The amnesty proposal that was defeated in Congress — in your view, was that amnesty for illegals and would you back amnesty for a path to citizenship, as the current president calls it?

SARAH PALIN: No, I’m not for amnesty. Let’s ratchet this down quite simply to remember what we’re referring to. Illegal aliens are called “illegal” for a reason.

We need to secure our borders and I am not for amnesty. And there are humane ways to deal with the 11-13 million illegal aliens who are in our country right now, but if they’re not going to follow the rules, they need to get out.

“Sarah, Sarah, Sarah. NO, IMMIGRANTS did NOT...”

AuntB, you’re either shoveling a whole lot of revisionist BS, or you’re sorely lacking in our early American history dept.

The Native Americans didn’t built this country, though they were certainly a part of it. Following the Mayflower Compact, and other immigrants from Europe, our countries early history began to take shape.

She wants amnesty, just like McCain and Bush.

How do you figure this?

Got any sources?

Man50D sole goal is to defeat the OP (formerly GOP) to use Man50D’s giggling, effeminate saying, that he uses almost non stop.

He will not tell you which party that he supports (Democrats?), but he will do everything that he can to get you to not vote Republican.

Have I done something wrong?

No but this is a discussion site. New posters tend to post and not respond otherwise known as "hit and run". Responding is good. But be aware that we have liberals who come here and try to disrupt. New posters are always "suspect". It's normal.

A hit-n-run is someone who drops an inflammatory post and then refuses to come back and defend their posting.

The Mods will let you know. They are pretty hard on new folks these days, because of the influx of trolls (disruptive posters), but you should be ok as long as you are willing to play by the rules.

“I don’t want to know about her politics, I want to know what makes her special to so many here.”

What is it about Sarah that invokes her special standing?
HONESTY! COMMON SENSE approaches to common problems the rest of the political establishment plays politics with for maximum fund raising impact.

Can you name me any other politicians who you can feel comfortable with, honestly? Someone who you feel is straight forward and not talking down to the citizens?

If you are going to jump on the bash Palin bandwagon, I suggest you come armed with something. If you have been lurking on FR, how could you miss the wealth of correct information about Sarah Palin that is available rather than posting on day two totally unarmed.
