He reasoned that the two (2) completely separate Hawaii newspapers carried the birth announcement of Barak Obama over 40 years ago, and both newspapers had no idea that ZERO was going to become President. O'Reilly concludes that the announcements were likely legitimate.

Billy didn't reason anything. He tuned into Beck and got his talking point. Asn another FReeper posted upthread, those announcements prove that the grandparents exist and lived in Hawaii. That's about all.

Considering the quirky Hawaiian law in place at the time that allowed people born elsewhere to claim Hawaiian citizenship, it is easy to see how this could happen.

Grandparents would be eager to claim Hawaiian citizenship for their grandson born offshore to claim:

Welfare benefits
Education benefits
Child custody in case of a divorce, etc.

I was living in IL with my husband when our first child was born (a year before Obama was born). My mother begged me to come home a month before the birth so that the baby would be born in CA. (We were planning to move back to CA anyway, as soon as my husband finished his current quarter at Northwestern.) This was because:

In case the child was a girl (she was) she would be eligible to compete for the title of Maid of Cotton, as it was a requirement that a contestant had to be born in a cotton producing state.

My mother, who otherwise was a rational woman, was simply bizarre in this request. So, I understand Madelyn Dunham's actions if it is true that he was born elsewhere.

I really can’t believe this charade continues in broad daylight and people act as if all the necessary and pertinent documents are readily available and beyond reproach.
This is the greatest propaganda campaign ever perpetrated in a so called “democracy” with a “free press” and one day we will know the truth. Somewhere out there is a “Deep Throat” just waiting to waltz into the history books and shed light on the biggest fraud and disinformation campaign of all time.
While NerObama fiddles, the USA burns, and the media lies, we will keep this issue alive until we get a proper answer instead of obfuscation and flat out BS.
Patience is indeed a virtue and watching hacks and enablers like BOR choke on crow will be an everlasting reward.
